President Clinton and Senator Obama are the same in one very frightening way, neither had a strong Christian man as a father. They are boys in a man's body.
President Bush and Senator McCain did grow up with strong Christian men as fathers and we can see their character.

They're the bumbling, unlikeable redneck up the street that the audience ends up grudgingly acknowledging as not-completely-evil-but-still-a-dick?
Yep. Both are warmongering tyrants. And it's also why the USA has lost all credibility with the international community.
I'll take the boys, thank you. The others are mean old bastards.
Well, I've seem quite enough of GWB's character thank you. War here, war there, crashing economy, America's image trashed, lying, appointing patently unqualied persons to positions of power.
McCain's "straight talk" seems to get less and less straight the closer the election comes. That's not a mark of strong, positive character. Taking on a moron like Palin as a VP isn't a mark of good character either. Remember, just having had a "strong Christian" father doesn't make one's character fit for the presidency.

Sounds like it is better for america if their president doesn´t have a strong christian man as father ;)
So growing up with a Christian father is a bad thing???? Bush is a FAR FAR worse President in every way(except perhaps his family life) than Bill Clinton. As far as Clinton's sex life is concerned, yes he may have screwed some women but Bush has screwed our entire country. Clinton left us with a vibrant economy, a strong dollar, $1.39 a gallon gas, no war, no welfare for the rich, a strong middle class, a budget SURPLUS, and worldwide respect. Bush has managed to destroy every single one of these, so you just defeated your own argument.
If I were you, I'd run as far as possible from the issue of Bushbaby's character.
Besides, I had a strong Christian man as my father, so vote for me for President. I'm Doctor Whom, and I approve this message.
Well, let's see.
Clinton lead the country for 8 years, during which we did better than we ever had in history. Progress was made both economically and socially.
Bush basically eradicated everything Clinton had done for the country. He destroyed the national surplus Clinton had built up, caused hundreds of thousands of people to lose their jobs, and was the forerunner of several attempts to deny groups of people their basic human rights.
I think I'd much rather have a president who has more in common with Clinton than Bush.

That doesn't say much for having a Christian father, then.
Yeah...their "character". One is a drunken, irresponsible and incompetent frat boy who rode the coat-tails of his father, and the other is a guy who spent most of his young life sleeping around, flunking out of school, being an all around bully, and riding on the coat-tails of his father. Sometimes it is better to be strong yourself than have a strong person paving the way for you. And, of course, Christianity has no relevance to any this.
Opportunist Bush abandoned his farther religion (Episcopalian) for personal interest and gain. Some pious son!
McCain squealed all the info the reds wanted in Vietnams. Didn;t matter that he was thereby killing his comrades.
What does your father's religion have to do with anything?
[and we can see their character. ]
Their both liars. What kind of character is that?
President Bush and Senator McCain did grow up with strong Christian men as fathers and we can see their character.
Yes... President "I got my daddy to pull strings so I didn't have to go to Vietnam" Bush has such a good character. Perhaps he should have shown the character McCain did, and actually GO to Vietnam?
But, speaking of McCain... what do you call a person who collabarates with the Vietnamese during a time of war between the US and Vietnam?
I'm sorry, but if that's the kind of character you get growing up with strong Christian men as fathers, I think Obama is a much better person than Bush or McCain. (or you, since you like cowards and traitors)
Bush is the textbook example for incompetence, McCain is warmonger extraordinaire.
So yeah, quite christian.
/They are boys in a man's body./
Are you sure you're talking about Clinton and Obama here? It sounds more like Bush.
Besides, my father is a strong Christian man. Should I be running for president?
Bush is by far the worst president ever to run this country, and McCain is a pseudo-hero who says one thing yet practises another.
Clinton brought respect and prosperity to this country on the ashes of the Reagan disaster.
I am a republican, and no fucking way am I voting for an unpredictable old fart who's about to peg out at any moment, nor vote for a zero IQ bimbo who doesn't even know the geography of her own state.
Every president who has got in on a religious ticket has always been a disaster.

Do you know what "shooting yourself in the foot" or "pissing on your own camp fire" mean?
So growing up with a strong Christian father makes you fail at everything you ever try, turns you into a drug addict and an illiterate who can't string two sentences together without making up a few words in the process (thus making even less sense than usual)?
Good for Barak and William, then...
neither had a strong Christian man as a father.
What you call strength is merely inflexibility, which is not at all the same thing, not least because it invariably entails brittleness. Those people who behave as if they are synonymous typically also can't tell the difference between things like bravery and recklessness, critical self analysis and treason, or deliberate inaction and impotence.
They are boys in a man's body.
On the contrary; that's actually a good description of a typical Christian fundie - in fact, if you'd care to read your own damn book you'll notice that, in the teachings attributed to him, Jesus even specifically states that his adult followers need to be like children.
President Bush and Senator McCain did grow up with strong Christian men as fathers and we can see their character.
I haven't seen enough of McCain to comment, but as far as I can tell, Bush doesn't really have a character. I suppose that's why he's the ideal fundie president - authoritarian religion typically doesn't place any value whatsoever on individuality (which is more or less a prerequisite for a strong character), in fact it usually treats it with deep suspicion.
Confused?
