It says that you MAY purchase slaves, but doesn't say you should. Therefore, I don't see what's so bad about this whole thing. I would never own slaves, I think it is morally wrong and despicable. If God thinks it's okay to own slaves, so be it. I don't care because he loves me enough to send his only son to die on a cross and he is not directly forcing me to own slaves.

You're missing one minor detail: Potential slaveowners may have a say in it, but the slaves don't. Why do people who consider this situation always place themselves in the former position rather than the latter? Still, at least you admit that the Bible says what it says on the subject.

Do you think you are morally superior to god? After all you already admitted that owning slaves is O.K. according to the bible and therefore god obviously also doesn´t see anything morally wrong with owning slaves (at least if you believe, the bible is gods word).

And if you really think that your morals are superior to gods morals, doesn´t it give you food for thought? ;)

It says that you MAY have an abortion, but doesn't say you should. Therefore, I don't see what's so bad about this whole thing. I would never have an abortion [I don't have those kinda parts anyway :P] I think it is okay, but not my business. If doctors thinks it's okay to have an abortion, so be it. I don't care because they want what's best for the patient, as long as the patient agrees.

God is absolutely A-OK with slavery, although he thinks it's not cost-effective if you whomp one so hard that he's out of action for more than two days. And you say he killed his son to show how much he loves you? Sounds a tad harsh. If I were you I'd stay very, very alert.

Let's not forget the Muslims in the Middle East. They kill Christians for being a Christian, don't want Christians in their homelands, and actively torture those who refuse to believe in their lies, yet Christians the world over are crying out against such "evil actions perpetrated against humankind." BUT, it's OK if we do it, because our book said so, and our book is better than your book, even though the Koran actually has more historical veracity than the Bible. The only parts of the Bible that were carefully copied to be as exact as possible was the Law of Moses, which actually reads alot like the Koran. So what makes one violent, hatefilled, blood-lust view better than another?

There is no 'if'. The Bible gives you instructions on how to do it. If you people were 'true' Christians you'd be out there on the streets 'witnessing' that slavery be re-introduced. And us atheist 'Evilutionists' who've read what Darwin wrote condemning slavery could go out and protest.
