[transcript of a prayer at a McCain rally]
I'll also add, Lord, that your reputation is involved in all that happens between now and November, because there are billions of people around this world praying to their god, whether it's Hindu, Buddha, Allah..., that his opponent wins, for a variety of reasons, and Lord I pray that you would guard your own reputation, because they're gonna think that their god is bigger than you if that happens.
So I pray that you would step forward and honor your own name in all that happens between now and election day.

LOL. So, if Obama wins, that means Jesus got pwned by Buddha, Allah, Ganesha, et. al? We have you on the record with this, then?
Seriously? Buddha and Hindu are not gods.
No one prays to Buddha. Buddhists only follow his teachings. Praying to Buddha makes about as much sense as praying to your mentor.
And Hindu is a religion, not a deity. There is no such thing as a god named Hindu.
Get it right.
And if your god needs a warmongering president and his wolf-shooting secretary to prove that he's important, well, that's just sad.
Hindu..? Praying to Hindu..?! There is no god named Hindu- the religion's name came from a river, you idiot! The British didn't know what to call the people they met in India, so the indigenous people referred to themselves after the river in their area! If anything, they'd be praying to Krishna or Shiva or Ganeesh or a plethora of Hindu's multitude of gods- Hindu is the river and the religion itself!
The ignorance! It burns!!
"and Lord I pray that you would guard your own reputation, because they're gonna think that their god is bigger than you if that happens. "
Now, now...your god and theirs are equally fictional.
The short version:
"Dear God,
Do as I say or else!"
Maybe I have a skewed view of Christianity since I've read the Gospels and only a little else of the Bible, but I can't help feeling that if Jesus had a problem with moneychangers in the temple, politicial preachers could hardly 'scape whipping.
there are billions of people around this world praying to their god, whether it's Hindu, Buddha, Allah..., that his opponent wins
Not to mention the people praying to Yahweh.
What about all those other people *outside* of USA who are praying for Obama's victory? The voices of non-citizens won't count, but it's not really a big trick for the omnipotent God to influence the vote within the country if enough people bother Him, is it? After all, if your God is a National God, is He really the omnipotent creator and overseer of the whole universe and any suggestion of that kind would hardly be justifiable?
Thus, I'm sure a rather significant portion of the rest of the world is praying right now that US makes *a bit* more informed choice of a president (either way) than in the last few times.
Why aren't fundies that support McCain campaigning world-wide that the foreigners should pray that McCain gets elected? (And if they are, they've clearly failed, because I haven't seen any mention of that sort of campaign out here. The news coverage on US presidential campaign focuses on "popularity" and "issues", whatever those are.)
Dear God,
Fuck off.
Giles
This would be a cool series of "Big Brother"
Jesus, Jahweh, Allah, Shiva...
Who will YOU save from eviction?
Who is Hindu? I'm aware of Vishnu, Kali, Brahma, and some others, but I've never heard of Hindu. Oh, and by the way, OBAMA WON! So, does that mean you admit now your sky fairy isn't worth shit? Probably not.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
