Atheists, why don't you fear God if He sent lions after those that didn't fear him?
2 Kings 17:25
And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them.

It is easy:
If God uses fear to make people believe in him,
it is my moral obligation to resist him,
as then he isn´t a benign god, but rather something that resembles the Satan you always mention ;)
1. That would be the act of a bully, not a god -- certainly not a god worth worshipping. Anybody who forces obedience and fealty through threats and intimidation, making us "an offer we can't refuse," is acting less like God the Father and more like the Godfather.
2. Funny thing, but I've been a nonbeliever for most of my life, and I've never yet been attacked by a lion, even when in a zoo where one might conceivably have jumped the enclosure barrier (and certainly could have with divine assistance). Why do you suppose that is, Lion of Judah? Or should we call you Lyin' of Judah?
~David D.G.
I don't fear god because I don't believe he exists, pretty hard to fear something when you don't believe in it.
I've been an "official" non-believer for almost ten years, and in fact, I've never REALLY believed at all, I just wasn't totally sure how I felt about religion until I was 13. I've yet to be attacked by anything worse then mosquitoes and one wasp.
Major premise: God sends lions after those who don't believe in him.
Minor premise: I have received no such lions.
Conclusion: God does not exist.
Alternate thought: Wolves are lions, metaphorical wolves especially so.
Christians, why do you insist on trying to use the bible to convince us the bible is true?
We do not fear god for the simple reason that he doesn't exist .
Atheists, why don't you fear God if He sent lions after those that didn't fear him?
If God could send lions after those that did not fear him, I would fear him. There is no evidence that the bronze age tales of God invoked vengeance are actually true, so there is nothing to fear.
Atheists, why don't you fear God if He sent lions after those that didn't fear him?
Because it comes from a collection of 2000+ year old goat herder and camel driver scifi books?
A better question is : Why do you believe in any of it's ridiculous stories?
Dear Lion Of Doodah,
I have not feared God for decades and I have not been beset by lions. Once I see God, with whip and chair in hand, sic his lions on a few atheists, I'll be a more devout believer than you.
Suck eggs,
Papabear
JESUS CHRIST, IT'S A LION! GET IN THE CAR!
...You made me do it, LOJ. >__>
EDIT: Great minds think alike, huh jenovatrix? XD

Nope. No lions.
I don't fear God sending lions because I have a boomstick!
BOOMstick, it's like an iron chariot but better.
"Atheists, why don't you fear God if He sent lions after those that didn't fear him?"
And she-bears to maul a bunch of children. Don't forget the bears.
As to why I don't fear him, well, it's hard to fear something that appears to be nonexistent.
When lions come after me, we'll talk. Until then, no dice.
Sidenote, if LoJ gets banned... does that make it a lojban?
"Atheists, why don't you fear God "
That's obvious. Because they don't believe in Him. Are you stupid or something?
1) Because lions can be easily stopped
2) Because I believe in a God of love, not fear
3) Why don't you fear Donkey Kong if he threw barrels at those that didn't fear him?
Christians, if our disbelief wounds your skydaddy so much, why does he not send lions after us? We're right here, not going anywhere. He could do it easily. But he doesn't.
THAT SHOULD TELL YOU SOMETHING.
Because if i was gonna fear fictional villains i would fear the ones who had something nastier to threaten us with than lions.
Like the computer from i have no mouth and i must scream.
Or cthulu.
Or lord voldemort.
Or anything someone further down the comments section who is more knowledgeable of the literary genre of horror mentions.
I'm an atheist, I live in Africa - and even I have never had a lion sent after me. In fact, I've never seen one outside of a game park or zoo.
Anyway, atheists don't believe in god (how many more fucking times must we say it?) and so they cannot fear him. Irrespective of what it says in 2 Kings or any place else in the fucking bible.
I bought this magic rock on eBay for $100.
It keeps the lions away, here in Los Angeles.
Sure works good, and I don't have to kiss its ass.
Lions. The worst he's got is lions?!
To be fair, I'd be quite amazed to see a lion outside of a zoo around here. I think the only iniginous cat used to be a lynx, but they've been gone for centuries.
Guess it just highlights god retreating in the gaps, doesn't it?
The largest predator here in the UK is the Red Fox (Vulpes Vulpes ).
Frankly, I have more to fear from Kitsune than your 'God': and those werefoxes of Japanese legend are the messengers of the rice god Inari.
What do I have to fear from Shinto's deities? Amaterasu & Kwannon = Princess Celestia: the Goddess of the Sun, who is Omnibenevolent .
You have more to fear from Nightmare Moon, Pussy of Judah.
Confused?
