Hostility towards Christianity is growing rapidly in the United States of America. What do you think is preventing widespread killing of Evangelical Christians here in America...?

Well, to be honest, if more Evangelical Christians acted on their sick ideas (rather than just post BS on the net) I might see a need to kill some. Otherwise, I don't care as long as they stay away from kids.
What is preventing the killing? Oh,,, merely the superior morality of the Atheists, I guess !!!
but Cabraxas :
there are times......
"Hostility towards Christianity is growing rapidly in the United States of America."
Laws forcing you to be tolerant of those not exactly like you =/= 'Persecution'. Deal with it.

Oh, I dunno... mayhaps the fact that it's not fucking happening in the first place, nor will it ever ?! One word: Laws.
Moral: What do you bet that in the not too distant future, to assuage their 'Persecution Complex/Fetish' that never comes to pass, fundies start attacking each other - physically - over who is fundier than thou ?.
...still, should make for great 'fly on the wall' documentary material on TV, for Sheriff John Bunnell (Ret.) to present & narrate, eh? Stock up on beer/soft drinks & popcorn! 'Fundies Fuck Themselves Up'; fun for the whole family! >:D
[/sarcasm, just before anyone complains ; Canuovea, I'm looking at you ]
What's preventing the killing of fundies? Perhaps the fact that we have more important things to worry about, like the economy, the war in Afghanistan, the Arab Spring, climate change, etc. etc. Fundies are annoying but not that important. Mostly, they're good for laughing at.
I know you'll find this a difficult concept to comprehend, Stevangelist, but almost all human beings have a conscience, and the exercise of it is not utterly dependent upon religious belief.
The law, the fact that an overwhelming majority of Americans (including the president, all of the SCOTUS and almost all of Congress) are Christians, the Constitution, public morality...
And besides all above, history shows us the times Christians have been killed due to their religion. It's overwhelmingly been another sect of Christians doing it.
America is on that see-saw right now, From the fundamentalists accusing sects as not being true Christians, to the moderates trying to appease them by silence or worse, becoming more like them.
Here's how "Hostility towards Christianity" is interpreted by them:
They preach hate about Gays, other religions, other races, other countries and cultures, democracy, literature, history, evolution and science, anyones constitutional rights, the media, taxes and gun laws. They promote theocracy, forced religion in schools, obediance to the church, hate in general, wars and discrimination in many forms.
We remind them they're not in charge of anyone and are not now or have ever been the architects of society. We don't always do this politely as they should already know this and these arguments should have ended a long time ago.
They whine "Oh, we're so persecuted"
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
