[After giving 50,000 to support Prop. 8 in California]
The Pattersons, who have been married 14 years, say there were thinking about their children's future when they decided to tap into their savings to contribute.

Because which would be more beneficial to your children: sending them to college, or making it so that the people who will still be having sex together can't get a marriage license?
obviously it must be stopping those sodomizing, godless heathens who are very likely at least as good as you, if not better than you in every way.
It's misworded: the Pattersons are supporting Prop 8.
And all I can do is *facepalm*
[MOD EDIT: I have fixed the wording now.]
I thought Prop 8 was trying to BAN SSM. The Pattersons donated to the fight against Prop 8, right? So... why is this up here, and how the hell is it "Fundie"?
EDIT: N/M, apparently it was mis-worded and they're FOR Prop 8.
Dude, unless your kids are gay, or one of them's gay, why the heck should homosexuals getting married matter to you? How does two strangers marrying each other affect you at all? My family and I live in New York. Connecticut just recently ruled that homosexual marriages are legal. We don't live that far from there. And so far, my parents' marriage hasn't combusted. My grandfather hasn't left my grandmother for another man. We haven't even talked about it, because IT'S NONE OF OUR BUSINESS!
You're concerned about your children's future? Try focusing on the sorry state of our economy right now, which they will have to deal with as they grow older. Try focusing on the massive debt that they will have to pay. Try focusing on the war in Iraq that they might have to serve in. In other words, straighten out your priorities and shut the heck up.
Prop. 8 is unconstitutional. Spin it, toss it in the air and catch it like a frisbee, it's still unconstitutional. And, correct me if I'm wrong, California is still a part of The Union and is governed by The Constitution.
So, fuck the homophobes and bigots, it ain't gonna happen.
They were thinking, "Futures? Ha! We're going to be Raptured!"
I'm guessing this is a gay marriage bill or something?
The best part is it's none of their business - If gay marriage becomes law, straight couples are still married. They're still straight. It really doesn't even do anything for us, it's just a "Hey you're right, you were supposed to have this right, here you go" moment.
Edit: Supporting Prop 8? So is Prop 8 that one that 'defines' marriage? [Ha! Defining words! You morons!]
"Honey, I was just thinking. About Jack's education-"
"EGADS! Honey! The gays are marrying! I need Jack's college fund!"
They gave the 50,000 to support Prop 8, not fight it.
I kind of hope one of their kids turns out to be gay. They'll already hate their parents for having pissed away their college fund on a stupid bigoted bill...
What a waste of cash. Even if Prop. 8 isn't declared unconstitutional and null and void, which it well might, same-sex couples will still have the option of hopping a flight to Logan or Bradley and getting married in Massachusetts or Connecticut. California is bound by the U.S. Constitution to recognize the acts, records, and judicial proceedings of other states.(Article IV, Section 1)
It was a happy day when I heard that Prop 8 had been judged unconstitutional.
This Swedish (opposite gender) couple, who have been married 13 years and lived together for 10 years before that, say the future looks brighter and happier, thanks to that judge.
Confused?
