"Two days in a row we have this front-page splash on the passage of gay marriage and all the elation and celebration."
Well, it is news... in a newspaper.
"Do not forget, however, that this will not have a happy ending."
First, you can't actually show "this will not have a happy ending." There exists no evidence that gay marriage causes any harm and I don't believe you can read the future.
Second, "Do not forget" implies "this will not have a happy ending" is something I already know to be true. It is not.
"God is the creator of happy endings"
No. Your Bible contends that your God killed the Egyptian firstborn, brought plagues, and sends most of his charished human creations to eternal torture in hell, a hell he created just for that purpose.
"and he will have the last word, not the judges or politicians."
Please prove that your God has had any word at all.
"When he acts,"
You mean "If he actually exists and actually DOES act"
"and that day is coming very quickly,"
Please show evidence supporting that assertion. I mean, Jesus supposedly said he was coming back within the lifetimes of some of his audience and he hasn't come back. You folks have been claiming he will return shortly ever since. Face it, HR, you've been duped. Jesus, if he even existed, is long dead and he isn't ever coming back.
"it will make 9/11 and the economic crisis look like a walk in the park."
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You drop me a line if your God or Jesus ever actually show up. I'd like to have a word with them.
"We, as a nation, have turned away from him"
I, as an atheist citizen, haven't turned away from him, I just discovered he doesn't exist. One can't turn away from a non-existent being.
"and trampled on his commandments for too long."
So, do you cook, travel, or heat your home on the Sabbath? Do you have any sculpture in you home?
