You can believe whatever the hell you want. It becomes my problem when you're shoving it in my face.

So you speak from the Bible on abortion?
Do you really?
Also, what Asuka said.

Cool. If Christians are going to stop being "diplomatic" about spreading their crap that means I don't have to be "diplomatic" anymore and I can tell them exactly what I think of it when they start with me.
Sounds good to me!

How are abortion and homosexuality "Christian issues"?
Oh and..."Why do non Christians expect us to be diplomatic in our conversations..."
Do unto others....

We don't expect you to be "diplomatic", because you never are. But you do expect you to try not to foam at the mouth if you want to be taken seriously.

"Do you not understand that we speak from the Bible."
OK, I'll bite. Where does the Bible mention abortion? Not infanticide, not mothers killing their already-born children for cannibalistic purposes, but the actual destruction of a fetus.
What's that? It doesn't? Well, gee, I guess you're not speaking from the Bible then, are you?
@Doctor Whom: The really stupid thing about that argument is that the verse has nothing to do with procuring an abortion. It has to do with assaulting a pregnant woman in such a way as to cause a miscarriage. Assault does not occur with the mother's consent; abortion does.

The christian definition of diplomatic is called "being an asshole" by normal people. The best way to deal with them is to use their own diplomacy back at them.

Abortion would be a christian issue if christians were the only humans on the planet having children.
Since that's not true, it's not a christian issue, thus allowing other groups of people to have an opinion and/or belief.

Sometimes you do, yes, I understand that. I don't care, but I understand that. Do you not understand that we speak from reason, fairness, and good sense?

Great. First explain to me why I should have a doctrine forced into law, affecting me PERSONALLY (and ironically against my actions that affect you not at all) that I do not believe in.

Is it not better to leave diplomacy at home and start facing the truth?
Absolutely!
You should start by putting down your bible, not much truth to be found in there.

Yeah, it's funny, ain't it? They feel they're entitled to spew bile and vitriol over anyone and anything, because their Bible gives them free rein. The moment someone returns fire, though, the person is mean and evil and should be more sensitive to the poor persecuted Christians.

I am so fucking sick of Christians acting like they're fulfilling some god-given destiny, and set apart from the rest of society.

I don't really care about the 'issue' of heaven and hell.
Abortion and homosexuality aren't exclusively Christian, though. So you have to allow other people to have opinions.

The Christian issue of abortion? In the Bible if you cause the death of a pregnant woman's baby you have to pay a fine to her husband. Basically implies that the baby belongs to the father before it is born. Oh, you mean you want to ban all abortion. You're going against the Bible.

Since when does a

"As Christians our role is not to win a popularity contest."
Your role, as Christians, is (supposedly) to convince non-Christians to believe in and worship your god, so, technically, it IS your role to win a popularity contest.
And you're failing miserably at it.
