Should we (Public Schools) put prayer to god back in schools like we had in the 40 and 50s?
Perry : We absolutely should. We should get this nation back into the ways of the Lord.
I would like to see prayer mandatory. If someone doesn't want to do it, they don't have to. They just don't get the same privileges.

Republic of Gilead for Jesus!
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Straight from the KJV, Matthew 6:6!
Also, cue for Biting Pear of Salamanca.
You really can't see the problem of making mandatory, a personal, subjective belief, can you? Just be thankful you live in a christian dominated country, Perry.

No.

Okay, then. No more seafood. We can again allow slaves. No clothes made from more than one material.
I would like to see prayer mandatory. If someone doesn't want to do it, they don't have to.
Someone doesn't know what mandatory means.
They just don't get the same privileges.
Huh? Explain.
Maybe if you'd spent less time praying and more time playing, you'd know that mandatory doesn't work that way.
EDIT: I mean learning dammit. But you know what they say. All pray and no play means Perry never gets laid.
[We should get this nation back into the ways of the Lord.]
It never was "into the ways of the Lord". Separation of Church and State, remember?
[I would like to see prayer mandatory. If someone doesn't want to do it, they don't have to.]
I think you misunderstand the meaning of the word "mandatory".
[They just don't get the same privileges.]
Oh, I see. You want to take away my freedom of religion. Try it. I dare you.
I agree. I demand that children be made to pray to Cthulthu!
Oh wait, I bet you want to be able to choose who they pray to huh?
Well, ok, so how do we decide which god to force people to pray to? Majority vote? But won't you have a fit when Islam finally wins that vote?
You are always trying to rip away the protections of minority beliefs. You will regret that dearly when you find yourself in the minority.
If someone doesn't want to do it, they don't have to. They just don't get the same privileges.
How would you know if someone wasn't praying? Or worse, how do you know that they aren't praying to Satan or Baal?
Great! Your school will get it's first shipment of the Qu'ran tomorrow. Some students will have to share until the second shipment comes in,
Whaddaya mean "not what I meant?"
Pray at church/temple, and learn your creationism there as well. Public School is for academic education, sports, socialization and the arts (music, art class).
They should be kept seperate.
I see ???Jaydens Mommy??? posted at the same time as I did.
Where's all her question marks ? ? ?? ?
We feel the same about the sites you post on :)
*sigh*
Read the First Amendment.
Note that each and every one of the Founding Fathers was still alive, well and able to be consulted when it was drafted.
Separation of Church and State - it's wonderful!
Whose prayers, and whose Gods?
Also, this bullshit of creating a subclass of people because they are the same variety of sheeple you are is wrong.
Jayden'sMommy, "I agree with perry, this site is full of idiots."
*sigh* citation please.
i would expect you to come up with at least one example instead of just mudslinging insults around. but as usual, you can't, so i'm not holding my breath.
don't these people realize they prove us right every time they open their damn vacuous pieholes? i mean, i know not everyone on this site makes an eloquent point all the time (and i will be the first one to admit that i've been guilty of this too), but i guarantee every single one of us here can (and do) back up what we say with substantial proof. that, or at least have a legitimite point, and convey that point with some sort of clarity. unlike certain people who i shall not name again.
Ah, they don't have to do it but then they don't get recess? That seems fair.
Listen here folks, go preach your beliefs in bronze age mythology on someone else's dime.
What privileges does one get from prayer? For that matter, what, if any, benefit does one get from prayer?
I would like to see prayer mandatory. If someone doesn't want to do it, they don't have to.
Mandatory... something that must be done.
Not having to do something means it isn't mandatory.
Agreeing with someone who's just made a mistake like that means you're a moron...
Nice to see that Jaydens Mommy is determined to show us her idiocy.
@CT and others.
I think the discrepancy between "Mandatory" and "If someone doesn't want to do it, they don't have to." It's something like the "You don't have to stop when the police sirens are blaring behind you. You'll suffer bad, bad consequences, but you're free to just keep going."
Jayden's Mommy:"I agree with perry, this site is full of idiots."
Well, of course you agree with him! No one here expected you to ever utter an original thought. After all, not-so-great minds think alike , too.
the question marks are instead of my heart symbols you idiot. anyone with half a brain can figer out this site is too crappy to recognise it. Prayer is proven to help cure illnesses. how do you explain miracles hmm? or the fact that violence in schools is increasing?
I don't know why I bother, you people make me sick.
how do you explain miracles hmm?
I'll give it a shot when you can prove one happened that didn't amount to coincidence. And it's odd that the occasions that prayer heals only tends to happen is after the person seeks professional medical help. Could it be that any possible benefits it gives are purely placebo?
wow have a coconut
retard.
[wow have a coconut retard.]
You're going to have to do better than that if you want anybody to take you seriously.
So are you going to answer my questions, or not?
Confused?
