Quote# 50304

They (leftist liberals) took over law school faculties, co-opted many mainline Christian denominations -- like Methodists and Presbyterians -- and subtly replaced the teachings of scripture on man's need for redemption with emphases on social justice and helping the poor.

OH NO! NOT SOCIAL JUSTICE AND HELPING THE POOR! What would Jesus say? Don't they know that morality is all about killing queers and burning down abortion clinics?!

"subtly replaced the teachings of scripture on man's need for redemption with emphases on social justice and helping the poor"

EVERYONE KNOWS THAT CHARITY AND JUSTICE ARE THE WORKS OF SATAN!

Nihlum

Yeah because Jesus was really against charity right? Oh wait.

10/22/2008 3:29:53 AM

...social justice and helping the poor.

Because these are, of course, terrible fucking things. Who needs to help people out when we can spend our lives praying to GAWWWWD! He'll help us and give us a magical paradise, regardless of how much we're douchebags, just so long as we believe!

Cunt. Go die in a fucking fire. Painfully.

Old Viking

Well if you were dull-witted enough to let us take over law school factories and mainline denominations, you pretty much deserve to suffer with the Satanic social justice aftermath.

Punches Pilot

If you Christians can't do social justice right, don't be surprised when God takes that gig away from you and gives it to someone else.

Who decided we need redemption, and from what?

10/22/2008 4:00:21 AM

Mortok

Why would they be teaching scripture in a law school anyway?

Allegory for Jesus

Damn filthy liberals, tricking us into helping others...

On NOES! Helping the poor, the less fortunate! Following what Jesus said about doing just that! How can I live with myself doing that?

Very easily.

Mrs. Antichrist

Heaven forbid that the government focus on something as horrible as social justice.

Loulmotron

How dare they go against god's age old plans of plague and pestilence by helping the downtrodden and ensuring the guilty are punished... Helping the poor, justice and stability, pah. These things are definitely not what god is about!

Just remember kids to be a good Christian or Catholic just spit on the poor and throw rocks at people for being different than you. The people in the bible did it and it doesn't help the evil liberals at all.

Oh noes, not helping the poor!

10/22/2008 11:04:28 AM

a mind far far away

I've read the bible practically my whole life (since I was about four or five, even though I did't understand it then, I still read it), and I seem to recall the thrust of jesus' teachings was on social justice and helping the poor. He spoke much less on man's need for redemption (Jesus himself said that the came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance, which would imply that there were those in his time that didn't NEED ANY kind of redemption). It was that lunatic Paul who introduced all that crap as fundamental. We should call it Paulanity, or Paulism, now.

*shakes head*

Hey, it only takes a couple of minutes to accept Jesus as your saviour. Why shouldn't Methodists and Presbyterians spend the rest of their time on social justice and helping the poor?

10/22/2008 12:02:43 PM

I thought the thrust of the thing was that one achieves redemption by working for social justice and helping the poor.

I mean, othewise what was all that "Blessed are the meek/peacemakers/those who hunger for justice" crap about?

BufferickVonHellbags

this is definitely a poe, big time...

Yes because that is Satanic apparently. Like that Jesus guy. And is it a wonder your god and Jesus passed it to others since maybe they are closer than hardline right wing assholes?
