There have been a handful of fossil hoaxes and frauds, just as there have been hoaxes and frauds with biblical texts (Google "Johannine Comma"). Scientists usually discover them fairly soon (a lot sooner than the KJV-only crowd will admit the Johannine Comma is fraudulent, which is never). Artistic renditions are ignored by scientists. They have no scientific standing. They're just added to popular magazines and books to help laypeople visualize things. Transitional forms aren't based on skimpy bone fragments of teeth, jaws and skulls. Archaeopteryx, for example, is a complete skeleton, including the feathers. So HisTruth is 0 for 5.

This is why Fundies love conspiracy theories so much. When they are presented with evidence that counters one of their beliefs, they'll just state that the evidence is false evidence planted by the Conspiracy. The Conspiracy Theory magically disproved all evidence.

Quote-mining a snippet from a single source in a magazine from 1979 does not magically cancel out every single other datum point since. And it doesn't magically invalidate every single piece of data which even your quote states we've gained.

You're going to have to try a little harder; And here's a curious one for you: How do you explain the Biblical inconsistency in kosher law, stating we may not eat four legged flying creatures (No such creature exists, unless you want to count pegasi and gryphons). Or how about the little snippet about rabbits chewing their cud? What about the great flood? Where did 5 miles of water depth vanish to?
