"[T]he Bible covers hundreds of topics, yet it does not contradict itself."
You haven't actually read your Babble, have you?
"It remains united in its theme."
Bullshit is a broad theme.
"[T]he Bible covers hundreds of topics, yet it does not contradict itself. "
Except for all the places that it does.
"It remains united in its theme. "
If you mean the theme of "Goddidit," then yes.
The Bible does cover many topics... mostly how to slaughter nonbelievers and how to properly rape their women, and what to do if they do not please you.
However, it DOES contradict itself. (TWO accounts of creation, and what about Lilith?)
But it IS united in its theme of hatred, destruction, and fearmongering.
Actually, the 4 Gospels of Jesus are pretty much all contradictory if you consider that some shit just apparently didn't happen at all in some versions and was super-important in others. [The dead rising or.. something]
Even if you ignore that, the death of Judas varies depending on which chapter you read.
I mean, have you ever even cracked open your Skeptic's Annotated?
The only thing constant in the bible is God, but seriously, his personality isn't even consistent in the bible, he's like bipolar or something according to the bible, one second he's killing off lots of jews and next thing he's sending down somebody to save them, I mean wtf?
How did Judas die?
Who was Joseph's father (Mary's husband and Jesus's father or stepfather Joseph, not the Old Testament one.)
Did the people who were with Saul on the road to Damascus hear a voice or not?
Did Baasha die in the 26th or 36th year of the reign of Asa? Did Jesus say Peter would deny him bofore the cock crowed, or before it crowed twice?
At the last supper, did Jesus hand out the wine or bread first? Traditionally, the Church does bread first at Communion, but it's the other way round in the Gospel according to Luke.
"Taking ideas from other religions / making shit up" is a tried and true theme.
Seriously, dude, do you read the book you worship?
Confused?
