If anyone believes there is no such thing as demonic posession they are spiritually void and exsisting with the arrogance that mans intellect is superior to the creator. The reason atheists are never possessed is because they have already made the choice
to deny the creator. Thus, making reservations in hell with no need of demonic influence.

Ah, but you know how it is with making reservations in hell: it's hardly worth the bother... the view of the sulphur pit is blocked by scaffolding, the brimstone is lukewarm, they've just run out of pitchforks, and the Germans put their towels down in the innermost circle before you even get your hoofs on. *sigh*
Or, perhaps, because atheists are less likely to be fucking insane and paranoid. At the very least, they're not as likely to have supernatural explanations and millions of other deluded people to feed into their sickness.
But hey, maybe you're right, maybe the people who aren't crazy are really just going to hell for not seeing magical super-beings.
"If anyone believes there is no such thing as demonic posession they are spiritually void"
So? I fill that void with reality.
Also, it doesn't explain why it's only the weird/mental Christians who get posessed and why it never happens to your more nomal Christians.
Um...my intellect is superior to your creator. So is my two year old's, and my dog's, and even the old, dying tree in my front yard's intellect is vastly superior to your creator. The reason atheists are never possessed is even easier than your explaination: there are no such things as demons.
Mc is possessed by the Demon of Lack of Proper Punctuation.
You can go to hell for that, for nobody could be bothered to try to decipher the gobbledegook.
Thus, making reservations in hell with no need of demonic influence.
But will my pit be held after 8pm? I have no credit card.
You know, 25+ years ago I had some problems with anxiety and panic attacks. I sought the help of a doctor and with the help of medication, counseling, relaxation therapy, and a job change, I got rid of all of it and was off the meds in four months.
In retrospect, I shudder at the thought of how I would've handled it if I'd had some irrational belief in demons. People like that usually end up on the six-o-clock news and never in a good way.
Why does everything have to be demons with you people? Can't you accept the fact that people choose to do what they choose to do?
For instance, mcgsnn61 has chosen to pretend that people should not be held accountable for their actions, because everyone knows demons are responsible for all wrong-doing, and not the people who actually do those wrong things in the first place.

Unfortunately, many people with mental problems are victimized by sects (such as the Pentecostal and Charismatic sects) who believe those problems are caused by demonic possession. Not only does this belief prevent sufferers from getting treatment that might actually help, the "exorcisms" often aggravate exising mental problems or cause new ones. And these "exorcisms" are usually involuntary (at least for the recipient!) and sometimes result in physical injury or death.
Dyz: "Atheism also works against paranoia, wishful thinking and fear of death."
No it doesn't.
You're not some kind of ubermenschen, you know. Ever stop to think that the reason theists hate atheists so much is not that you're right and they can't handle it, but that you're fucking arrogant and condescending?
Confused?
