There is more proof that Jesus was on the earth and is and did all the things he said than there is proof that Shakespeare was a real person and that he penned anything at all.

Uh, the minutiae of Shakespeare's daily life are rather surprisingly well-known from some decidedly mundane sources like receipts and letters. (Among other things, based on his signatures, he was very lax about how he spelled his name.) That's way, way closer to the source than we have from Jesus.
As well as having a great deal of collected writings. Shakespeare also has a tombstone. A date of birth, a date of death. A family tree.
Jesus has a lot of here say.

It's times like these I wish there was a Superman. How can a mere mortal hope to fight an avalanche of stupidity on this scale?
Ok, I know there is some doubt Shakespeare really wrote some of his works, but that he existed...? Dude, even if he didn't write all the stuff they think he did, they know he existed...
Really now? We at least have documents penned by Shakespeare himself, let alone references from his contemporaries. All we have of Jesus is second hand references, all within a book that has all reason to be, shall we say, slightly biased about it.
we have baptism/birth records for Shakespeare, and marriage records, and the records of the births of his 3 children, do you have any birth records for Jesus?
If this assertion is true (and that's a mighty big if), it says little about Jesus's stature, and quite a lot about our foolishness in blindly accepting an ordinary Stratford man as the author of hundreds of excellent plays and sonnets.
"@JarJar_Head: Interestingly, "nunnery" was Elizabethan slang for a brothel. Hamlet's advice to Ophelia was very nasty."
That's exactly why I advised 00blade not to go to one. We wouldn't want someone this stupid reproducing, would we?
And yet we haven't been supplied with those proofs of Jesus on the Earth. On the other hand, Shakespeare left so much stuff behind, that it's fairly easy to know, he really existed.
Guess you pulled the short straw, again.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
