HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I have to say that I do think animals comunicate with us all the time1 but we have lost our animalistic ability to understand due to evolution. I quite often seem to know what my cat wants.
Animals have neve spoken to humans or each other though, not in the way this one menas it. Language is a purely human construction, animals communicate primarily in terms of emotion.

No!
Do animals communicate? Of course. Do animals talk? Only in cartoons. I can generally understand what my dog wants by the way she barks. But she doesn't say "Hey, Matt, get me some damn food, will ya? I'm starving here!" (I understand that there are some birds who can "talk", however, this does not mean they know how to communicate in human language."
They make noises, like meowing and such, we talk. For me to understand what the hell my cat needs, I need the signs as to what she wants. Whether it's to get up on a high perch she cannot reach or if she wants food, and she's a smart cat and will give me those hints.
Sure, snakes can talk. It's just that nobody speaks Parseltongue anymore. Well, nobody except fictional characters, anyway.
Ooooh, wait....

Most people don't understand modern-day snakes and donkeys.
If a snake came up to you and said "Hey there- doesn't this apple look just scrummy? You could eat it, you know..." would you understand it?

Because "communicating" and "talking" are two different things. My cat communicates that he's hungry, but he doesn't say "I'm hungry." He just becomes a pain in the ass until I fill up his food dish.

My proof is no animal is capable of human communication, outside of a rare couple that mimic human words mindlessly. As such, I have no reason to believe they can or ever did. You are the one claiming they did at one time talk for some inexplicable reason. Give me a reason to believe that, outside "for the bible tells me so."
There's no archaeological evidence for speech organs in snakes or donkeys.
At this point they never talk.
Where's your proof? Burden of proof, ya know.
Confused?
