I disagree with Colin Powell and Barack Obama on several points in General Powell's endorsement. If Obama is qualified to be president, then Sarah Palin is also qualified to be PRESIDENT. John McCain chose a strong lover of God to fight abortion and same gender unions. They both acknowledge prayer, a powerful weapon in all problems.
The war on terror is radical religionists against ungodly principles. The Islamists are fighting against abortion and same gender unions coming into their nations as well as other indecencies. The generals fighting since 2001 have missed the point because they do not understand or respect the word of God that declares that God fights against those who fight against His ways. The best strategy to fight the war on terror is to choose people who love God's ways. The primary message of the Qur'an is to follow the whole Bible. People who love the Bible will have something to talk about when then meet face to face. I do not know what Barack Obama would talk about; certainly it wouldn't be his party's platform of abortion rights.

Two years as governor of a state with fewer people than most major cities (and which receives heavy subsidies from the rest of us taxpayers), and a couple of years as mayor of Podunk's icebox, are not equal to service in the U.S. Senate and 14 years in a major state legislature.
Even if they were, experience would not change the fact that Obama is evenhanded, thoughtful, serious and smart, while Palin is a dimwitted, obnoxious fanatic.
They both acknowledge prayer, a powerful weapon in all problems.
Yeah, to bad your weapon works in favor of the other side.
No, and I don't think MarieDevine does either.
@780932, As Rusty_Professor points out if McCain did get elected suddenly we're reliant on his heart to keep Palin out of the oval office. Secondly the religious right has all but declared that Palin is their candidate. She is the second coming.
"If Obama is qualified to be president, then Sarah Palin is also qualified to be PRESIDENT."
Except that Obama HAS been in the federal government and he isn't a nitwit, ethically-compromising looney-tune as is Palin.
<Anyone have an idea what her point is?>
I think her point is that McCain/Palin shares the values of terrorists and therefor are more likely to come to an aggrement with them.
A novel approach if I'm right!
"They both acknowledge prayer, a powerful weapon in all problems."
Except winning an election, apparently. Never mind, eh?
"The war on terror is radical religionists against ungodly principles."
Well, atleast they admit it now
If Obama is qualified to be president, then Sarah Palin is also qualified to be PRESIDENT.
You're right. A c-level journalism major is just as qualified as the former President of the Harvard Law Review.
Yeah I agree with Bork, I think what she is trying to say is that in order to win the war on terrorism we need to become more like the Islamic extremists in eliminating rights for gays and outlawing abortion. Since McCain wants to do these things then he can win the war on terror. Also apparently diplomatic meeting with other countries primarily consist of:
"Dude abortions are so dumb!"
"Yeah I totally agree, life begins at conception and what not."
"Word that is so true, also gay people are evil and should be denied rights."
"Man, it's like we were separated at birth!"
"Totally, I guess that means I should call off all those terrorists who are attacking your country at my behest."
"thanks man, you are so awesome!"
Then in unison "GO GOD!!!"
OK, I honestly read that bit as "Same gender unicorns".
Once I had that image in my head I just couldn't take the rest of it remotely seriously. Not that I would have anyway, it's just that I was fighting the urge to laugh a bit harder than normal and couldn't even focus on the insane ramblings.
Fine. Disagree with Obama and Powell as much as you like.
Seeing as you have absolutely no credentials, your opinion is about as valuable as a bucket of warm spit.
The trigger-happy warmongers whining since 2001 have missed the point because they do not understand or respect the Gospel of Christ that declares that we should "love thy neighbor," "turn the other cheek," and "judge not, lest ye be judged."
Fixed.
The Islamists are fighting against abortion and same gender unions coming into their nations as well as other indecencies.
So it's not that you're anti-Islamist, it's just that you like being affiliated with the biggest bully on the block and don't want any competition.
The American electorate had a whole primary season to determine if Obama's limited experience was outweighed by his obvious gifts. The electorate determined that it was. We have had no such opportunity with Sarah Palin. You cannot compare the two. If Sarah Palin tried to secure the Republican nomination she would have been laughed off the stage.
As for your incoherent religious rant, I just can't comprehend how you all can't see that you are all players in the same game. In my mind the true danger is religious faith itself, not christianity or islam; the problem is faith. You can not reason with someone of faith because their opinions are not based on reason to begin with; there can be no compromise except for a tenuous tolerance. The only way to "win" is to fight and show who's side god is truly on.
Faith, all faith, is the problem.
John McCain chose a strong lover of God to fight abortion and same gender unions.
John McCain chose a strong lover of God to suck up to the religious right. Unfortunately for him, she doesn't appeal to anyone except the ultra right-wingers and lunatic-fringe evangelicals who would have voted for McCain anyway, while pushing moderates who might have been undecided into the Obama camp.
The President has no say about abortions. Even without Roe v. Wade, which the President has nothing to do with, abortion would be a state issue. Same-gender unions are already not recognized under Federal law (Defense of Marriage Act, passed in 1996 under Clinton).
"They both acknowledge prayer, a powerful weapon in all problems."
Oops, you've got a typo in there. I'll fix it for you:
[McCain and Palin] both acknowledge prayer, a useless waste of time when dealing with anything more problematic than deciding what colour socks to wear.
John McCain chose a strong lover of God to fight abortion and same gender unions...
The war on terror is radical religionists against ungodly principles. The Islamists are fighting against abortion and same gender unions coming into their nations as well as other indecencies.
So... Sarah Palin is an islamic terrorist?
I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say here.
MICHAEL Palin would have been a better choice.
Far more intelligent, far more experience, but unfortunately not qualified as he's British.
Sarah Palin is a mouth on a stick and she is like a rock - only more stupid. She speaks first then switches on her brain(?) later.
Waffling about Palin one minute, gays the next, and then Islam and abortion, with no clear link between any of them?
I think it'd be better if Marie STFU.
Unfortunately, Palin is qualified to run for president, but only under the minimum recommended requirements.
And prayer? Useful for fooling yourself and easing your conscience, but not much else.
Confused?
