Mohammed brought evil and inhuman practices into his belief system such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached. Violence is incompatible with the nature of Christianity.

Luke 22:36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
Partially true. Ignoring history (hard to ignore, I tell you) Christians don't cause as much violence as Muslims. However, Christians use tactics like fear-manipulation which is very immoral. Some of them are also anti-intellectuals.
Mohammed? I think you've got your prophets mixed up...
"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." - Matthew 10:34
Easy mistake to make, I'm sure.
[Violence is incompatible with the nature of Christianity.]
Well, it sure as hell is compatible with its followers!
Let me fix this.
"Jesus brought evil and inhuman practices into his belief system such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached. Violence is incompatible with the nature of (Buddhism, Bahai, Seikism, Neo-Paganism, Wicca, Native American religions, etc.)"
There. Fixed.
I found it!
Luke 19:27 "But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me."
This is your precious jesus speaking. Christianity is NOT a peaceful religion. I just thought I'd add that to the already large amount of bible verses quoted here that has jesus being or advocating violence.
"I, or rather the Lord, beseech you as Christ's heralds to publish this everywhere and to persuade all people of whatever rank, foot-soldiers and knights, poor and rich, to carry aid promptly to those Christians and to destroy that vile race from the lands of our friends . I say this to those who are present, it meant also for those who are absent. Moreover, Christ commands it ". Pope Urban II, calling for the First Crusade, as reported by Fulcher of Chartres.
The victims of the Spanish Inquisition say no.
Well, actually, those who were tortured using the "pear" say "GHAAAAAHGARGL." Awfully hard to speak with a broken jaw that was never re-set right.
Actually, if you'd read your Bible, you'd find that was glaringly incorrect. But if more Christians believed this, and actually practiced it, I'd have fewer problems with Christ's followers.
Although throughout history, "christians" have definitely used violence, he is right to say that violence is incompatible with Christianity... or at least Jesus' teaching.
and in Matthew 10:34, Jesus was not condoning violence; he was only stating that because some people would believe in him and others wouldn't, there would inevitably be violence; he never said it was ok, in fact he said it was NOT ok... Turn the other cheek anyone?
100 million native americans, 17 million polynesians, 630 million asians, 83 million middle-easters, 135 million africans and 148 million europeans say - you are full of deluded shit!
That's a kill rate of 1900 per day, every day, for the last 1600 years!
And "true american christians" are STILL killing civilians in thier droves in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Until Pope Urban, Islam, Christianity and Judaism were at peace and in harmony.

...you were saying?
so the Crusades, Spanish Inquisition, Salem Witch trials, the conquering of the Americas, the Holocaust, the Vatican consent of the slave trade, none of these ring a bell Bingolly?
NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!
Sorry about that its a nasty habit..
You fail history.. Please read a history book..
Another addition to the list of countless atrocities committed in the name of Christianity:
The 30 years war. Raging from 1618-1648 in Germany. This was the war which made 'popular' the infamous water torture (at that time called the "Swedish drink"). This war was destructive beyond any description. Germany lost 20% of its populace, locally up to 70%.
Why was this war fought? Protestants vs. Catholics. It is one of the textbook examples of a religious war.
The christian faith did NOTHING to prevent this catastrophe. Quite the contrary. Christianity CAUSED it.
Most of your fellow fundies appear to disagree, judging by the huge amount of quotes on FSTDT involving fundies threatening violence against people they disagree with.
Also, the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the Salem witch trials, etc.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
