-casually sets the sign on fire-
I don't see the "more abortions" thing happening, but what's inherently wrong with the others?
I don't think one man being elected president is going to make more women say "Yes!, I'm having an abortion" That rate will stay the same I would think. I hate guns, taxes are a fact of life, as long as two consenting adults love each other I don't care who marries who.
They want the sign to have more power than it does. They want to scare people with the depiction of Obama as a Muslim. They are desperate, it's all they have.
Obama 08!
First off, Obama is not a Muslim, and like Colin Powell said, what if he was? What's so awful about moderate Muslims who aren't stuck in the 9th century?
And I'd say more same-sex marriages and gun regulations is a good thing.
If that is his real middle name! :3
And ironically I support many of those things.
Well, the second one. And the first in some cases.
They really love his middle name. Sort of speaks volumes about their approach to politics.
"His middle name is Husein?! He must have been one of them thar terrorrists that ran plains into those tower thingies."
I bet they wanted BAD to put big fat lips on him and all of the other racial stuff too.
"More abortions"? What? Will Obama be running around and personally getting women pregnant and getting them abortions? Honestly, I can tell that not much thought went into this sign.
Please, someone find me the idiot or group of idiots that put this piece of trash up, so I can duly hunt them down, beat the shit out of them, and send them to their own hell. Please....
Isn't this more RSTDT? I mean, yeah, it's bearing false witness, and it's kinda silly, but this is also severely racist.
Why is Hussein in quotation marks? It's his real middle name.
I love fundies on abortion, though. Railing about us left-wingers even though it's our condoms and comprehensive sex education that reduces abortions, while they just stand there and stomp their feet while they rail about 'Sin'.
Relax, Obama may have a lot of women following him, but he can't honestly sleep with enough of them to increase the percentages significantly. That and most women take birth control these days. And who's to say that he'd be soo bad in bed that women would discover their inner lesbians... or maybe he's so good, a few men will discover their inner gayness.
Yah, being stupid can be fun.
Sigh. Are these people honestly dumb enough to believe that a Muslim would be pro-choice, for gay marriage and for gun regulation? How bloody ignorant can these people get?
If Obama were a hardcore Muslim like they claim, he'd be a Republican.
I like to think that in a few decades, pictures like this will be used to show children of the future how backward their country used to be, in the same way that history books now show old "Whites Only" signs out the front of restaurants, pools and drinking fountains.
Upon seeing this image, I had the idea to replace "EQUALS MORE" with "IS COVERED IN BEES", and replace the stuff under it with stuff like "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" "BEEEEEEEEEEEES!" "THEY'RE GOING RIGHT FOR MY EYES!". And paste some bees on his head, and flip his mouth so it looks like a frown. Maybe replace the turban with an afro too, just for the hell of it.
I'm not going to, of course; I'm far too lazy to do that kind of stuff nowadays. But I can see it in my head, and it's hilarious.
None of those are true, expect the last one.
"I'm a Christian. And so, although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition, and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman."

Sen. Barack Obama on Tuesday proposed overhauling the tax code to lower taxes for the poor and middle class, increase them for the rich and make it so most Americans can file their taxes in five minutes.

He does have a strong anti-gun stance, and he's talked about "trying to reduce the need for abortions in the first place", both things I strongly support.
because, so far, those things have made such a HUGE impact on our lives in any way, shape, or form, other than fundies screaming about it because they have nothing better to do.
OH NO, THOSE GAYS DOWN THE STREET HAVE A MARRIAGE LICENSE NOW! EVEN THOUGH THEY WOULD HAVE STILL BEEN TOGETHER AND GAY WITHOUT IT. BUT NOW THEY HAVE SUPERHUMAN GAY STRENGTH, AND I HAVE TO ACTUALLY CONSIDER THE FACT THAT THEY ARE REAL PEOPLE NOW.
OH NO, I HAVE TO PAY TAXES SO THAT I CAN HAVE ROADS, POLICE, A FIRE DEPARTMENT, AN A FUCKING GOVERNMENT AT ALL
OH NO, HOW WILL I PROTECT MY HOME WITHOUT A CANNON THAT FIRES 70mm EXPLOSIVE-TIPPED ROUNDS MOUNTED ON THE ROOF OF MY HOUSE? HOW WILL I PROVIDE FOR MY FAMILY WITHOUT A .50 CAL FULLY AUTOMATIC ASSAULT RIFLE THAT FIRES 30 BULLETS A SECOND?
Seriously, people. you act like higher taxes improving infrastructure and the lack of high-powered assault weapons on the streets are in some way going to LOWER your standard of living

Still racist, still wrong, but better.
Time required: fourteen minutes.
1) How will it equal more abortions?
2) Is there something wrong with that? They aren't hurting anyone except those who may not be comfortable in their own sexuality. And then homosexuals aren't hurting them they hurt themselves
3) With today's economy, I do not see why that is so bad
4) 2nd amendment won't be taken down.
Under Obama taxes for the average person go down while taxes for those who earn more than 1/4 million a year (that's a fricking truck load...and I plan on earning it myself someday) go up.
Under Obama he simply plans on keeping abortions legal. That's all. He's not going to force people to get abortions therefore he has no power over that statistic.
As president he has minimal power over marriage. All DOMA did was codify the normal law that marriage certificates are not final judgments in a court of law. In actuality it was a complete non-law. States already had the right to refuse to recognize marriages in other states. So, he has no power over same-sex marriage.
And gun regs...well you got 1/4. IF he actually supports more regs.
Test score: 25%
This is what we call massive fail.
Yes, because that's what all militant Islamists support. Just visit Iran and Saudi Arabia--every weekend, there's at least one same-sex wedding going on right out in the open, and you can easily procure a hasty abortion just for the asking! Why, any cabbie or merchant would point you right to the local clinic, then chat with you about his husband! Oh, and if you're female, try to dress as much like Michelle Obama as possible. The local mullahs think short sheath dresses are the most appropriate things for women to wear--that's why Michelle wears them so often!
So let me get this straight.
He's a secret arab muslim (born in Kenya and Hawaii -apparently he can bi-locate) who attends black power christian churches, supports domestic terrorists while being anti gun, will personally kick every pregnant woman in the United States as hard as he can in the stomach, force people to marry their own gender and then make you pay for all this to happen.
Did I just sum up what every shitforbrains anti Obama asshole believes?
I'm not talking about someone who has a rational "no, I believe his policies will be counter productive" well-reasoning voter, you're ok. All half dozen of you. It's the others I'm addressing.
What is the point of the turban? Muslims aren't required to wear turbans. So this billboard is either trying to say Obama is an Arab or Turk, which you can tell by his skin color and features is false, or that he follows Sikhism, which is just silly.
-Abortions: he will not magically increase the number of abortions above what it is now by becoming president. But he will not overturn Roe v. Wade. There's a difference. Personally, I think it's good that he doesn't hate women so much as to force them to do what he wants with their bodies.
-Same sex marriages: Last time I checked, Obama was against gay marriage. One of the relatively few things I don't like about him.
-Taxes: yes, they will be higher, but you will get free healthcare. It ends up helping you.
-Gun regulations: Yes, another one of the things I don't like about Obama.
Oh, sure, but my dick pictures are "inappropriate"!
So far, this has been my favorite comment.
Have you people lost your minds? That billboard is exactly right.
Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money."
Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, I laughed as he had given away his political preference -- just imagine the coincidence.
When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.
I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.
At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient needed the money more.
I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.
If you vote for Obama, you had better hope you are ready to turn over the paycheck you workded for to someone who isn't working.
And ladies, I hope Burka's and sitting at the back of the bus are ok with you. In the Muslim Religion women have no resptect or rights.
You know, "Hussein" is actually Barack Obama's middle name, so you don't have to put it in scare-quotes. And it means "Beautiful", to which I would have to agree, since I find him to be a very attractive gentleman.
But exactly how, aside from the "abortions" part, is this sign not describing the majority of Republicans in power these days?
If you want to live in the United States of America as a citizen, you'd better pay your fucking taxes. And with an economy as shitty as this, you'd better be willing to pay more to save YOUR ass, as well as everybody else's.
Abortion - preferably as a last resort, would be much better if people were taught to practice safe sex. Safe sex = fewer abortions, less chances of getting STDs.
Same sex marriages - fuck all. I'm sick of this.
Gun regulations - good gun laws = fewer deaths. Doesn't mean your guns will be taken away because that's =/= 2nd fucking Amendment.
And Barack Obama, for the last fucking time, is NOT Muslim. If he was, no fucking way would he be for abortions and same sex marriages.
I'd like the guy a lot better if he supported equal marriage.
And what the fuck kind of muslim supports gay marriage and abortion anyhow? For that matter, if footage on US television news is to be believed (would they lie to me? ;) ) every muslim baby is born with a AK-47 in one hand and a burning american flag in the other, so the gun control part wouldn't even make sense.
These people can't even get their bullshit story straight.
Sounds good, this is exactly why I'm voting for him.
Although it doesn't mean more abortions will be preformed, it just stays the same because it'll stay legal.
Seriously though .. a real Muslim would be AGAINST abortion, homosexuality in general.
Truth seeker, you're an ignorant tool. Your stupid little joke isn't funny and isn't how taxation works. And if Obama was a Muslim, he wouldn't be pro-choice and pro-gay marriage, and he certainly wouldn't let his wife run around in short tight dresses.
You and your ilk really, really need to quit making asses out of yourself.
The "same-sex marriage" one worries me.
In 2004, same-sex marriage made headlines when a San Francisco mayor decided to allow marriages for same-sex couples in defiance of California's existing laws. This pushed the issue to the forefront, causing a big enough backlash to re-elect George W. Bush.
In 2008, same-sex marriage made headlines again, when the California Supreme Court struck down laws against same-sex marriage as violating the California State Constitution. Will this push the issue to the forefront enough to give the swing votes to McCain this election?
Gasp! Not more gun regulations!
I wonder why America, a non-religious nation, has more fundies than England, a christian nation?
I know what they have against Abortions, Same Sex Marriage, and Taxes..... BUT GUN REGULATION?! What the hell?! I thought We Christians were supposed to be benevolent, not Gun-loving! Doesn't Jesus hate guns?!
P.S.: The claims on the sign sound good to me!
P.S.S.:What state was this in?
@Kanna
"Now, speaking of consistency, Catholics, which I was until I reached the age of reason, Catholics and other Christians are against abortions, and they're against homosexuals. Well who has less abortions than homosexuals?! Leave these fucking people alone, for Christ sakes! Here is an entire class of people guaranteed never to have an abortion! And the Catholics and Christians are just tossing them aside! You'd think they'd make natural allies. Go look for consistency in religion." - George Carlin
Confused?
