Quote# 5075

I am amazed that you do not consider my degree in Chemistry to be relevent to evolution. Do you really believe evolution took place without CHEMICALS.

Because evolution is in the 'domain' of Biology, not Chemistry.

By that logic, having a degree in Physics trumps both, since neither can happen without Physics, so only physicists can be trusted. Is that how we should run it?

Well Chuck, you seem to believe this universe, this planet & all the life on it was created by an invisible sky fairy. Your point?

Do you think your brain could survive without food? Would you then take psychiatric advice from a hotdog vendor?

I find it dificult to believe fundies operate as they do without CHEMICALS.

You can have as many degrees as you want, in any field possible. The evolution will just continue anyway.
Evolution isn't something that "took place", it is taking place everywhere, all the time.

My degree is in Earth Science, and since evolution is proven in the fossil record found in the geologic column, my degree trumps everyone's.

But how are you going to understand anything without reference to mathematics?

You never took a degree on Chemistry or in English, for that matter.

Ahem... what kind of chemistry degree do you have? Attained at what university?

Just asking. I strongly suspect that Mr. "Charlie Liebert" holds a degree in "Four elements alchemy" or similiar, issued by the "Faith-is-all science-is-nothing baptist congregation university of the bible belt". The style of the post would support my suspicion.

"I am amazed that you do not consider my degree in Chemistry to be relevent to evolution."

For the hard of thinking like Charlie here:

DNA = Deoxyribonucleic acid

Deoxyribonucleic acid = Nucleotides

Nucleotides = adenosine triphosphate, guanosine triphosphate, guanosine monophosphate, adenosine monophosphate, flavin adenine dinucleotide, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate.

DNA =

Thymine (T, Thy) - also known as 5-methyluracil, a pyrimidine nucleobase. As the name suggests, thymine may be derived by methylation of uracil at the 5th carbon. In RNA, thymine is replaced with uracil in most cases. In DNA, thymine(T) binds to adenine (A) via two hydrogen bonds, thus stabilizing the nucleic acid structures.

Guanine (G) is one of the four main nucleobases found in the nucleic acids DNA and RNA, the others being adenine, cytosine, and thymine (uracil in RNA). In DNA, guanine is paired with cytosine. With the formula C5H5N5O, guanine is a derivative of purine, consisting of a fused pyrimidine-imidazole ring system with conjugated double bonds.

Cytosine (C) is one of the four main bases found in DNA and RNA, along with adenine, guanine, and thymine (uracil in RNA). It is a pyrimidine derivative, with a heterocyclic aromatic ring and two substituents attached (an amine group at position 4 and a keto group at position 2). The nucleoside of cytosine is cytidine. In Watson-Crick base pairing, it forms three hydrogen bonds with guanine.

Adenine (A, Ade) - a nucleobase (a purine derivative) with a variety of roles in biochemistry

Evolution = Biology = Biochemistry = Chemistry.

Ergo, re. his 'degree in chemistry', Charlie puts the LIE in Liebert. QED.

I don't have a degree in chemistry Chuckie, but I know enough - certainly in using Google - to prove you...:

I have a degree in chemistry, too. And biotechnology. Guess what? They both lead me to believe in evolution because they give me an understanding of its basic mechanism of action.

I have a degree in English Literature, and since the KJV is a product of English Lit., my degree outweighs yours. Biblical Creation is FICTION!

AHA! So you do except that it happened.
