Why do Atheists give the pretence that they are tolerant?

Atheism, like other extremist ideologies, is about denial and negation...there is nothing positive or affirmative about it.

Yet, I am constantly being told by the Atheists about how "tolerant" they all are....LMAO!!!!

Atheists have a proven track record, in places like China, Cuba and North Korea, of doing their best to suppress freedom and human rights. They have no regard for the dignity and worth of the human being whatsover - note how the founding fathers ascribe a divine origin for the inalienable rights of Man in the Declaration of Independence - , preferring to explain it in terms of chance and natural selection:

Isn't it the case that Atheists burn inside with a visceral hatred and disdain for religion and faith?

Isn't it true that Atheists believe that by suppressing religion they would doing the world a big favor?

Isn't it in the nature of the Atheist to want to silence all talk of God and holy religion?

Yep, because religious is horse shit. As a pastor, this dumbass has devoted his life to the spewing of one flavour of shit as opposed to hundreds of other religions, so of course he feels defensive.

note how the founding fathers ascribe a divine origin for the inalienable rights of Man in the Declaration of Independence

Note how they ascribe those rights to "nature's God," which has attributes mutually exclusive with those of the Abrahamic God. Note how the Bible flatly denies those rights.

Note this.

"Yet, I am constantly being told by the Atheists about how "tolerant" they all are...."

I tolerate your mean-spirited vitriol, as well as your incessant denial of reality and clinging to your deeply-ingrained delusions.

I do not attempt to persecute you or deny you the ability to continue believing in your non-existent deity or accuse me of being an evil, stupid, intolerant and hell-bound heathen bastard.

"Isn't it the case that Atheists burn inside with a visceral hatred and disdain for religion and faith?"

Nope. I don't hate religion or faith. I hate ignorance and blind adherence to dogma and doctrines put forth by superstitious goat herders thousands of years ago, with no objective or independent thought put toward it.

"Isn't it true that Atheists believe that by suppressing religion they would doing the world a big favor?"

I believe that the world would be far better off without religion, yes. I do not, however, go out of my way to "suppress" it or squelch those who believe in whatever god or gods they wish.

"Isn't it in the nature of the Atheist to want to silence all talk of God and holy religion?"

Nope. It's in my nature to not believe your god exists, and to feel bad for you that you're blinded by ignorance and the need to feel special.

Because atheists tend to be more open minded and less likely to put someone down for believing something they don't. And I am not an atheist but my best dealings with people were generally atheist. Ironic how that works out.

I'm very tolerant of other religions....as long as they keep to themselves. Its fundies like you that test and break my tolerance, because you yourself are intolerant.

1) Hate? No not really. I'm annoyed by the "convert or burn" crowd.

2) If you mean by keeping it out of schools and government, yah. However, a person's beliefs, church attendance, or religious community gatherings doesn't bother me at all.

3) Only when a fundi has the gal to do door to door sales of their religion when I'm getting ready to sit down to dinner. Otherwise, talk away.

Track record?

That's bullshit, that's like saying all Christian hate Jews just because Hitler did.

We have no 'track record', our only uniting belief is the disbelief in a god, don't slander me just because you think somebody else who was a douchebag was supposedly also an atheist.

No. I'm an atheist, but I do not have a problem with religion itself. If people want to practice it, go right ahead.

Just don't be a dick about it.

1. I wouldn’t say burn, but sometimes, yes the distain I feel for religion and the religious-minded could be described as visceral. I like to think I’m provoked though.

2. Doing the world a favor? Definitely. But since I disagree with suppressing anyone’s right to be as ridiculous as they want so long as it isn’t hurting anyone, no I don’t believe in suppressing religion.

3. Just because we’d like you to shut the hell up about your “holy religion” doesn’t mean we want to take away your right to say it.

Jeeze, these people have a menacing view of atheist.

you can believe whatever apeshit insanity you want to.

What you can't do is imose the ethos of that on everyone else

nor claim special rights for yourself based on it

Wait. What?

No my little idiot. Being an atheist doesn't make you an "extremist". Now, I'm highly tolerant. I'm skeptical and I'm outspoken but I can deal as long as others can do the same. Atheist, Christian, Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, IPU'ism, being any of these things doesn't make you intolerant. Being intolerant makes you intolerant.

"Isn't it the case that Atheists burn inside with a visceral hatred and disdain for religion and faith?"

Mostly they just hate fundies like you, but yeah they do think relgion is stupid...and they are kinda right. Relgion is illogical because it is faith, not science, based. Get over it.

Who can blame them for hating relgion, with all the crap that you fundies do.

"Isn't it true that Atheists believe that by suppressing religion they would doing the world a big favor?"

Yes, because of all the infighting and killing that goes on. If you people would stop acting like rabid wolves then the world will improve.

"Isn't it in the nature of the Atheist to want to silence all talk of God and holy religion?"

No, they just want to laugh and mock you. And, according to the first amendment, that is their right. They are not hurting you, so leave it be.

Try reading the Malleus Maleficarum for how tolerant your mickey-mouse religion is.
Then pray elucidate why the christian faith is singulary responsible of (rough average) 1900 human beings per day, every day, for the last 1600 years worldwide, in order to get the heathen to see the light of your man-made invisible sky-daddy and his questionable offspring.
As for silencing all talk of god - absolutely not.
The more you rave about the power of your god and what he/she/it is capable of, (but never seems to be around to do it itself - has to use idiots such as you in its' name) the more ridiculous your rhetoric becomes.
