Oh no, not tolerance!
10/30/2008 9:49:41 PM
What would Jesus do?
10/30/2008 9:56:47 PM
Love thy neighbor?
10/30/2008 9:57:35 PM
Please do not move next door to me!
10/30/2008 9:59:53 PM
They sound like a wonderful family. And, when you say she said she didn't want her kids exposed to God, or Christ and church, she must have said something quite different, as she is clearly tolerant enough to allow her daughter to attend a Christian church (which counts as exposure in my books, even if she is only in the choir).
10/30/2008 10:00:31 PM
I pity your kids
10/30/2008 10:00:51 PM
The good news is, you can force a certain class of fundie to leave town just by being yourself!
10/30/2008 10:07:20 PM
I hope you lose a bundle when you sell your house. And...
Your kids will accept whatever they want, whether you like it or not. I hope they accept the fact that their mother is batshit crazy and get over it.
10/30/2008 10:08:19 PM
"the only way to stop the cycle of my kids hanging out with these kids was to move"
You are a bitch.
10/30/2008 10:09:29 PM
Wow, she actually moved in large part because her kids wanted to be friends with kids who wern't religious enough?
10/30/2008 10:31:19 PM
Boo hoo, a family that isn't whitebread fundie, whatever will you do.
Well, move, apparently, but it's your loss.
10/30/2008 10:34:08 PM
So every time you meet people who don't live up to your fundy standards you're going to move? Busy, busy, busy!
10/30/2008 10:40:19 PM
I love chior. Smells great.
10/30/2008 10:40:42 PM
Funny how the 4 kids "were so well behaved and well mannered" UNTIL she found out that the mother was atheist. Also, she hates the church but lets her daughter be in the choir at a Baptist church?? Obviously she is tolerant of others even though they don't share her beliefs(unlike some others I could mention). I imagine your neighbors threw a party when you left, probably a good one without the neighborhood self-righteous prigs to kill everyone's fun.
10/30/2008 10:44:26 PM
Well, that's just great. Christians can be so loving and tolerant of others...... [/sarcasm]
10/30/2008 10:56:35 PM
Oh noes! Run away from the scaaaaaaary secularists!
10/30/2008 11:10:03 PM
Yes, move far way. Choose a part of the US where you have no neighbors for a 100 miles around. Then, you'll be safe from the demonic influences of tolerance and intelligence.
10/30/2008 11:14:09 PM
I began to realize the only way to stop the cycle of my kids hanging out with these kids was to move
Don't move next to my family. You'll only have to move again.
10/30/2008 11:22:28 PM
I wonder if I can make money peddling Secular Fallout Shelters to fundies?
They can live safely underground, reading about creationism and ID, waiting for the rapture. They can form subterranean communities of religious nuttiness, where everyone has the same beliefs. They can stop influencing elections. They can stop pushing their beliefs on those of us who don't share them. They can have the kind of world they want for 20% down and easy monthly payments.
10/30/2008 11:28:55 PM
"My kids were expected to accept this way of thinking, in order to be friends with these kids"
Yeah, that's usually how friendship works. You accept each other's differences. If you are only friendly with them to try and manipulate them into your way of thinking, that's not friendship.
"The mother, was honestly the first person in my entire life that told me, she did NOT want her kids exposed to God, or Christ and church"
Why do I think this conversation actually went something like this:
Julez: Would your kids like to go to BIBLE STUDY with my kids?
Mom: No, thank you.
Julez: Why not??
Mom: We're not really religious.
Julez: Why do you hate GOD?????
"her own experinces in the catholic church growing up in a factrured family in a foriegn country..and when her own family hadn't been there for her, her gay friends had become her family"
That sounds like a pretty personal confession. Apparently, this woman thought you were her friend. And you post her personal demons on the internet for all to see, as an example of why she and her family are "ugly" people. You're a bitch, Julez.
10/30/2008 11:37:13 PM
a mind far far away
Oh my gawd?! You mean people can think on their own without help from your sky fairy? Call the police! Quick, burn them at the stake! Dumb fucks, leave the nice family alone, they're obviously doing well without your insane fundy beliefs, probably alot better off than you could ever dream of.
10/30/2008 11:44:36 PM
"They were great, until I found out they weren't hateful like me! Now I hate them!"
10/30/2008 11:54:06 PM
"My kids were expected to accept this way of thinking, in order to be friends with these kids..."
Accepting that other kids aren't Bible-bangers like yourself isn't the same thing as converting to non-Christianity, you know.
10/31/2008 12:06:06 AM
You moved away from the nice family? So the story DOES have a happy ending.
10/31/2008 2:48:09 AM
God forbid your kids should be exposed to somebody else's point of view.
