Hallowe'en is a Satanist festival and it is both ungodly and dangeorus to mark it. A good part of Pastor K's sermon this morning was spent warning the kids about the bad things that might happen to them if they go trick-or-treating on Friday night.

How is it Satanist, can you prove it is ungodly or dangerous to mark or celbrate it?Those things can happen but too if the parents are there it can be great fun.

"A good part of Pastor K's sermon this morning was spent warning the kids about the bad things that might happen to them if they go trick-or-treating on Friday night."

They might get cavities and/or tummy aches from eating too much candy on Saturday?

Halloween is not of your satin(fundie speak). Look it up and try to read books or websites that are NOT fundie oriented.
Pastor K is a sick individual. He sounds like an ignorant, bigoted lout. My cousin, a priest, would be horrified with the tactic of scaring children out of their wits. Please tell Pastor K I think he's a jackass and that he is wrong. So what does he say about Christmas and Easter?

I get it. Halloween is teh debbil because getting free candy from strangers is considered socialist and according to fundies Socialism=Communism=Atheism=Satan.

It might rain. Car safety is always a concern. Check the candy for anything suspicious. Visit a dentist regularly. Overall, Halloween is pretty safe and a lot of fun.

Day of All Hallows = November 1; A day to honor saints and other Godly people who are dead. Christian holiday. Also known as All Hallowmas.

Eve of All Hallows = October 31; The day before the DoAH.

All Hallows' Eve = Another way of saying "Eve of All Hallows."

Halloween = An abbreviation for "All Hallows' Eve" or "Hallowmas Eve."

Now what was that about devil worship?

10/30/2008 8:05:15 PM

Wait. What?

Isn't it the night before "All saint's day"?

You do understand that Halloween means Hallowed Eve. It was the day that came before All Saints Day.

All true, but recent as Halloween goes way back before Christianity in the British Isles, Norway and germany

Today it's about dress up and candy. Then more of an Autumn celebration of death and darkness to come

To be fair to them, it IS more than just eating sweets. It's the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced Sow-en) which was the pre-Christian Celtic new year. They believed that the veil between this world and the other world was very thin on that day, and ghosts and ghoulies could come into our world then.

However, it has nothing to do with that Judeo-Christian invention, Satan. So, no, it's not satanic.

And this very night Fred, they are coming for YOU!
There is no escape, the ground shall shake and the ocean floors shall be torn assunder and the oceans shal pour into the chasms therein and nameless abominations shall ravish the earth.... AH-HARRRR!
The rest of the night will be fine with the possibility of scattered showers over the high ground.

Christmas and Easter are pagan in their origins too.
The only thing Christian about Christmans is the name;
Christmas, and all else about it, has no Christian origins.
Easter, also, is named after a pagan goddess, not the Esther in the Bible. If you don't believe me, then read the book of Esther in the Bible.
There are no modern day celebrations that have their origins in Christianity.
The information on this is easy to find.
C'mon now , THINK! I'm not here to teach these fundies
how to think.
It seems that they prefer some nut case to do their thinking for them.
Halloween? It's been a Christian thing for over 1000 years.
Most of you who log into this site already know that.
