*Facepalm* Let's take a little walk down History Lane, shall we?
I will, for the moment, base my argument on the founding point that the Judaeo-Christian religion began in 1000 BC. Looking THROUGH THE REGION (note: not the world) gives us these extant religions:
1. Babylon-Sumeria - Assyro-Babylonian pantheon.
Featuring such gods as Marduk, Ishtar and Adramalech, this religion featured the first kherubim - lion-headed spirits said to guard their home cities.
2. Ancient Egypt - Pharaonic pantheon.
Headed by Ra, and then Horus-Re (Ra's later incarnation), this religion believed in reincarnation, a divinely-instituted order, and that the Pharaoh was the Son of the Sun. Organise religion was the order of the day, with each god and goddess having priestly orders. Priestly orders also existed on behalf of the entire pantheon.
There - two extant religions in the same region as the ancient Jews themselves. This further ignores the various forms of worship that could be found in Canaan itself prior to the Jewish conquest of it.
In short, you rate a 10 on the Fail-o-Meter, Fundie.
