"Muslim descent" is a meaningless term, since Muslim isn't a race or variety of humanity, but a religious orientation that one can choose. You can no more be of "Muslim descent" than you can be of "sci-fi fan descent."

They had many increments for time - none of which quite sync up with our year, decade, century, etc. THe longest of these lasted until 2012.
Do you write calenders for 2562? Or would you wait until you got closer to that time to write up a new one? Retards think that 2012 has some special significance just because the Mayans all died out before they needed to write a new calender.

The Mayan calender is simply ending it's 13th B'ak'tun (sp?) cycle. The calender repeats every about 500 years or so for the B'ak'tun cycle. In fact, several Mayans predicted events several millions of years in the future, so I don't think that they thought the world would end by 2012

I mean, does a car cease to exist or explode when its odometer rolls over to 0? No, though depending on how many digits it has, and how well looked after the car is, it may not last very much longer, but that would be due to mechanical wear of driving many thousands of mile/kilometres.

The 13-Baktun cycle reset IS thought of as a new "Day of Creation", but only in the sense of a new era being created. Not the cosmic reset button that the last few paragraphs of the Apocalypse seem to suggest.
