You are WRONG! The burden of proof that Jesus is not God falls on the accuser (the skeptic). We also have iron clad proof, it's called the Bible. It's up to the accuser to prove the Bible to be in error. Lyra had the audacity to come on here and basically tell me that Jesus' divinity was nothing more than my opinion. That's just hogwash!

No, you fucking idiot. The burden of proof falls on the person making the positive claim. That's why the prosecution has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a defendant is guilty of a crime.
You say that Jesus is divine. You, then, have to prove it to the skeptic, using evidence. Oh, and anecdotes don't a case make.
Do you want to know a secret? Not only could Jesus' divinity be nothing more than your opinion, it could also be nothing more than your imagination.
"And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one rim to the other it was round all about, and...a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about....And it was an hand breadth thick...." First Kings, chapter 7, verses 23 and 26
The bible claims here that the ratio of a circle's diameter to circumference (pi) is 3, even though it is 3.1415926535..... There is proof of the bible being in error that cant be refuted on any grounds.
Shouldn't the burden of proof be on you to show that Jesus existed in the first place?
The bible is a very poor reference on this subject, because it contradicts itself on several key points (such as the lineage of Jesus, his final words and the date of his death). Note also that personal testimony is worthless as well, unless there is demonstrable evidence to back it up. Have you got anything else?
Take your time. I'll wait.
How can these people not see that the exact same argument applies to all other religions? If you want to reverse burden of proof, then you have to accept Islam because the Quran is iron-clad evidence... And Hinduism, and the Norse gods and the Greek Parthenon...
The Bible is just as much "iron clad proof" as the Poetic Edda or Bhagavad Gita.
A skeptic is not an accuser, silly. An accuser has some burden of proof, that the accusation is valid. A skeptic doesn't have any burden of proof.

Princess Celestia appears to her subjects in Equestria. Celestia = the 'Aten' of Akhenaten's beliefs. In which he scrapped the many deities of Egypt's pantheon, replacing them with just one , the 'Aten': The 'Light of the World' .
Not even a 'Trinity' required neither. Akhenaten pioneered Monotheism.
Even post-Akhenaten & the many gods replaced, there was Amun-Ra, responsible for the movement of the life-giving sun across the sky. Which is what Princess Celestia does. And she still appears to he subjects in Equestria, so even a cartoon monarch-deity has one up on your so-called 'God' Ruptured Retards, whose 'Faith'-based 'existence' - and your Burden of Proof-avoidance - can be destroyed by just two words: 'Russell's Teapot'.

In ANY other claim of evidence they would insist the person who makes the claim is responsible for proof. They can see that it works only in that way. But when it comes to their God they refuse that as valid due to,,tada,,SPECIAL PLEADING which ONLY they have the right to invoke.
Leading to things like FoxNews and lying-ass Politicians who all play the God card to insure their Christian followers accept their opinions as facts. Much of American politics has become "prove you don't do that" or "prove you aren't going to do that" while they have no obligation to prove any claim.
The fundie fan-base embraces that behavior because they really, really believe that they have a super-special status that exempts them from such worldly restrictions like proof.
The Bible can be proven to have been cobbled together from Babylonian, Sumerian and other middle eastern myths, it's also got Greco/Roman (Jesus) rewrites in it. IT CAN BE PROVEN AS MYTH AS IT'S SOURCES ARE MYTH.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
