Quote# 51735

Way depressed about the election as well, however, my state did pass its marriage amendment in our constitution to define marriage as one man and one woman. So praise the Lord!

You'd think if God wanted McCain as president he would have made it happen. Hmm...

Is it possible for people to make one wish they didn't believe in a god/gods? Just because that would make it easier to stomach these goons.

That marriage amendment will be defeated whether you like it or not, since its only purpose lies in denying civil rights so as to go with religious beliefs.

The bad news, we got the good president. The good news, we passed a piece of repressing legislation!

Thinking Allowed

As I understand it, Prop 8 didn't go through the proper legal stuff in the California legislation to be voted upon. If that's the case, then Prop 8 failed regardless of how voters chose.

The Lord is a homophobe. He has no right telling other people they can't get married.

Old Viking

Praising the Lord seems to lead to mixed results.

I was WAY depressed that Evangelical Barbie didn't get the VP slot as well, however, California voters did manage to approve an amendment that squashes some of the civil rights of other human beings. Praise the Lord!

Ha - I wonder what this christocrat will be saying when the ACLU wins its lawsuit thus squashing prop 8. Since by its very definition it is a revision of the state's constitution, requiring a 2/3s majority in legislature.

I'm sure the court allowing this vote were confident it would fail, thus shutting up the christofreaks once and for all. They showed at the polls and the progressives didn't.

Yeah, let's see how much you praise the Lord when Prop. 8's overturned, you selfish twit.

Will you also make it so that athiests are not allowed to marry? Or people of diffrent religions? Afterall, god hates them as much as homosexuals.

Way depressed about the election as well,

Well, our depression about the chimp you've had in charge for the last eight years is only beginning to lift, so I guess it all cancels out.

the universe will dissolve like sugar in hot coffee if teh gheys can marry.

World War 3, however will be a cakewalk

The bad news is, a long pattern of discrimination is reversing.

The good news is, another long pattern of discrimination is continuing.

Reverend Jeremiah

"DAMNIT! The nigger got elected..but at least we shafted those faggots in California. Praise Jesus!"

11/10/2008 2:35:22 PM

I want to bitchslap you SO FUCKING HARD right now...

[EDIT] That's the thing that scares me, Jebusfire. These people aren't gonna just stop with us. We've all seen where their idea of "morality" extends, and it gets pretty fucking scary.

So, the lord allowed the guy that would have a more liberal view on gay marriage win the election but he was victorious at passing an amendment prohibiting gay marriage.

I think that the lord is conflicted. Maybe there is something that he needs to tell us.

11/10/2008 3:55:58 PM

Your state sucks.

11/10/2008 4:06:33 PM

Boo on the statesman who invigorated his party and might just be the leadership necessary to restore some of the damage done in the last eight years, but yay for making gays second-class citizens!

11/10/2008 4:31:40 PM

Don't worry; it'll be overturned. That's part of the reason I'm not incredibly pissed off about it. I know it's going to fail. =)

Praise sanity!

Know that at least one of the neighbor to the North will be celebrating the court knocking that Proposition on it's head. Likely several more. :)
