[On a poll asking if you agreed with the gay-marriage bans]
I don't want my kids to have to decide what their sexual orientation is. They have enough to worry about.

I propose that we encase the earth in a vast sphere made of TV screens, then light them up in such a way that the words "HOMOSEXUALITY IS NOT A FUCKING CHOICE" are written in vast lettering in the sky.
Then maybe these idiots will get the point.
"I don't want my kids to have to decide what their sexual orientation is."
I know exactly how you feel. I wouldn't want my kids to have to decide what their blood type is so I'm going to try to get laws passed preventing blood transfusions.
"They have enough to worry about."
Yes, like at least one of their parents is a fucking loon.
Unless your kids are already gay, this is, like, completely unrelated to them.
I mean, what are you even..
??

"SEXUAL ORIENTATION DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY! GOODNIGHT!"
Good thing that sexual orientation isn't something you can 'decide', then.
And yes, they have plenty to worry about. Such as bigots like you.
Hmm... I think I feel like engaging in some hot lesbian action today and swearing off men. But tomorrow, I might change my mind and go solely for cock.
Decisions, decisions! I'm so glad I can flip my sexuality like a switch.
I always figured that it was a choice Of course, i still have nothing against it anyway.
I always believed that sexual orientation is defined partly by nature, partly by nurture. I don't know if I'm right. But, even if I was, I still wouldn't object to it, It isn't any of my business who you screw/love.

The second one, maybe.
@ Tired Christian:
Why do you think it's a choice, especially when so many homosexuals repress their sexuality for years due to shame and fear of persecution? What about that homosexual kids in high school who routinely have their lockers defaced and receive threatening notes, and are often the subject of physical and psychological abuse? What about the kids kicked out of their homes because their parents can't deal with their child's sexuality?
What about adults who are routinely passed over for promotion at work due to their sexual orientation, or are the butt of jokes and ridicule, or are fired for some pathetic excuse that more or less translates to, "We don't want a gay working here." What about the gays in the military who are discharged simply because of who they find attractive? The list goes on and on.
Who the hell chooses that?
Interracial marriage only became legal in America in the latter half of the 20th century. That sure as heck didn't stop white slaveowners from raping their black slaves centuries earlier. That sure as heck didn't stop Thomas Jefferson from having children with his biracial slave, Sally Hemmings.
People can still be gay regardless of whether or not gay marriage is passed. And sexual orientation is not a choice. Alena already explained it well enough.
And yes, your children have enough to worry about. They have to worry about growing up under the authority of an intolerant, brainless moron.
Um, that will be decided *for* them. What they really have to worry about, apparently, is how you'll act if it turns out they don't conform to your exact specs in some way or another.
Oh good! You're not a bigot, you're just looking out for your kids. Well, you are in luck: sexual orientation is not something one chooses. There has never been a single, reliable scientific study to support the notion that it is. Clearly, it is something that is outside the individual's control.
So, if that was your only barrier, I can assume we can put you down as a supporter of our side now. See you at the rally this Saturday.
Oh, what's that? You were just using your kids as an excuse to hide the fact that you are a small minded bigot who feels entitled to meddle in people's lives? Oh shoot, I got suckered again. Darn my belief in basic human rationality and compassion.
"I don't want my kids to have to decide what their sexual orientation is. They have enough to worry about."
I'm afraid that when the time comes for them to truly know their sexuality, it'll be completely out of your hands. With the emphasis on Your .
