What is wrong with civil unions and changing the law to give civil unions the same monitary and personal rights married people have? In the end God will have the last word and it isn't just homosexuals that will be the losers. This is a sick vile world and homosexuality is just part of the problem.

Because you'd have to change laws in every state and in every country around the world in order to get real parity. People travel. The idea you're proposing is called "separate but equal". Look it up. It didn't work so well the first time we tried it.

I think that when, in Ezekiel (?), God says that he creates good and evil alike, it might be better to think of it as "weal and woe", not "virtue and corruption".
The problem in What's conceit is that he/she seems to believe that if there weren't an overarching God, we'd have no sense of ethics and/or morality. So...where would God get HIS ethical/moral sense, if nothing overarches him? No double standards, mind.

That's funny; it's never cause me any problems. We even have a gay couple living next door. Of course, then again, I have a good job, an almost paid-for house, a half a mil in my 401(k) and full medical insurance. I take care of my own business and let my neighbors take care of theirs. Maybe "what" should be worrying about his own business and not what consenting adults are doing in their bedrooms.

I've got to agree with him there. In seriousness, the idea that someone might get offended by mention of another's parent offends me more than it's ever going to offend the child of a homosexual couple. It's almost as stypid as when England disallowed teaching of the holocaust so as not to offend Muslim students whose religious beliefs are against murder (...'cause absolutely no other faith has such beliefs. And at no other time in history did any act of mass bloodshed occur. Ever.) If I were a Jew, I'd be many times more offended about it no longer being taught than any Muslim will ever be from being taught about it. I say this having neither the perspective of a Jew or a Muslim, but I can't imagine many disagreeing.
Anyway. If civil unions will have all the same benefits as marriage, how's it any different? And if homosexuals are allowed them, how's it going to help your supposed problem of homosexuality?

Good and evil can coexist without a divine being. Why would kids not be able to talk about their mom and dad? It takes some real stupidity to believe that. But at least he's willing to admit that homosexuality is only a small part of his problems with the world, and not the majority of it. That is a very, very, very tiny step ahead of most other fundies.
It's at least good that he has a live-and-let-live attitude.

Humanism is taking responsibility for your own actions (behave to thers as you would wish them to behave to you). Remembber, religions don't have the monopoly on morals.
