Since Obama has been elected, I'm feeling jumpy and nervous from all the unknown about him. It's finally sinking in I suppose. I feel something dark swirling in the world like never before. Deep down, I trusted Bush with all his flaws. I just don't feel that with Obama. I don't feel the safety anymore or I won't when Bush is gone and Obama takes over. Is anyone one else experiencing the same or is it just me? I know to trust our Lord above all but I still can't shake these feelings right now.

His flaws may make him relatable, but you want someone in office who is BETTER THAN YOU! They are supposed to be running the damn country, and are not beauty pageant contestants that you can decide to support merely on the basis that you feel sorry for them or can relate to their shortcomings! Dammit...Having less apparent flaws is a GOOD THING! Especially if the person seems forthright and honest enough to not actually be hiding any!

The man is completely incompetent, he starts wars and tortures people on loose grounds, he lies to his people (or tries to he doesn't even have the skill to pull off an effective lie) and he's driven the economy down to rock bottom. What in this world makes you think that man is in any way competent or trustworthy?
There's nothing unknown about Obama. He's not some mysterious stranger who just popped up and won the election. Unless you're a fundy, anyway, but that's only because you don't know how to read. And those bad feelings your having? That's just a bad trip. Keep away from the grass, learn to read, and you might be ok.
This is what is called a crisis of faith. It's what you get when you engage in too much of what psychologists call magical thinking.
Here we have all the little RR cultists, so sure that God will answer their prayers (because they are God's Chosen Elect, after all), and when it didn't happen, the rug was pulled out from under them them. Now they are feeling frightened and alone in a chaotic universe that doesn't seem to be conforming to their safe paradigm. They are feeling totally helpless and having trouble coping.
It is quite normal for folks to spin out during a major paradigm shift and they will eventually get over it when the world doesn't collapse in a steaming heap over the next few months.
In the meantime, we can all enjoy our daily dose of Schadenfreude :-)
