[Does anyone take the book of levitcus seriously?
What is the point of the book of leviticus ( apart form giving atheist endless material to mock christains with)]

it happened...its historical......maybe you should quit mocking since it upsets God....He is your judge.....you gain nothing good from hatred..

Yes and no.

Large sections of it are like this:

"The guilt offering is to be slaughtered in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, and its blood is to be sprinkled against the altar on all sides. "
-Leviticus 7:2

And that's just instructions on how to do blood sacrifice when and if you feel bad. But other sections are like this:

18:1 "The LORD said to Moses,"
...
18:7 "Do not dishonor your father by having sexual relations with your mother. She is your mother; do not have relations with her."

See in that case, it's a historical record. A historical record in which YHWH is telling Moses that Yo Momma jokes are "not cool." So while broadly speaking it's just a bunch of rules that vary from "obvious" (don't be a mother fucker) to "batshit insane" (don't eat owls, when you're feeling down commit blood sacrifices on altars to wrath gods, etc.); in a much more specific sense a lot of the rules are written in the third person and a lot of others are written as a historical narrative of important people telling other important people to do or not do stuff.

But in the general sense: Leviticus is crazy. Anyone who wants to condemn the gays after that stuff had better be up on the proper way to sacrifice an ox to the dark lord or they are just guilty of hypocrisy. And Jesus hates hypocrites.

How do you know? Has he told you? Besides, if a little mocking can upset poor ol' God, awwwwww, diddums. Suck it up. We have to. If he's too small to be upset by a little ribbing, mockery, sarcasm* & satire, he's not worthy of belief.

BTW, Firebollocks - how's those polyester/cotton shirts feel, and those pork chops & prawns taste? Good, eh? Well, every time you wear & eat such, you're committing sins. Even in the NT, Jesus commands his believers to obey Leviticus:

Matthew 5:18: For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law.

Ah, 'tis good to be an Atheist. No rules to say what you can or can't wear, or eat. I'm having roast pork & all the trimmings tonight. Then mayhaps as a midnight snack, those shrimps I bought today, in a sandwich. Mmmmmm, tasty!
