@ saccharissa (and a few others at the same time really)
No, I'm not asking you to believe me. That is the point you are missing. You think I am trying to convince you to believe there is a God because I believe there is a God.
I am not telling you to buy my opinion. I am telling you that if you leave room for the possibility there is a God, you would be wise to seek Him earnestly before mocking and convincing yourself that He logically could not exist.
There are many reasons why when we seek God we do not find Him. Not the last of which is pride. Submitting to God is the most humbling experience, because you are letting go of your control, and realizing that you are nothing without Him. That He made you, and desired a restored relationship with you, and that you are not worthy of Him, but that He loves you in spite of your sin. You give up the right to control your life, but surrender to Jesus because He is good and He is Lord. If you seek Him, but aren't willing to sacrifice your life for His, you will never find Him.

Yes, the Bible names many fools, nonetheleast of which is those who call themselves holy and yet harbor unrepentant sin in their heart. You're right.
It's not about proving. I don't feel the need to prove anything. If you want to play the roulette/probability game, I can't play with you. Your chip will either land on the red or the black. You are unwilling to see the invisible force that will, in fact, land the chip on the red until it is too late. There is an answer, it can't be both red or black. Question is, what are you risking for the chance that it is black? And how sure are you that you aren't committing an eternal error?
I am out to prove nothing. I am here to tell you, should you not seek, you will never find.
"And this is the testimony, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; He who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may KNOW that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5:11-13
