I feel sorry for anyone who does not follow the principles laid out in the Bible. I know what happens to my life every time I stray from God's rules. It always ends in disaster. Millions of Christians feel the same way.
I guess it is no longer politically correct to stand up for the values, those of us who are Baby Boomers, were taught since childhood. I guess the Bible and the Ten Commandments are just old hat by now.
Why is it that some marginal Christians ignore the reasons why the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by fire no less?
I hate to say it, but I guess we are in the culture war I've been hearing so much about lately. Can the end of times be far away?

And yet, for millions of atheists, nothing disastrous has happened.
The thing is, shit happens to everyone regardless of their beliefs. Your magic skyhook won't protect you no matter what you make yourself believe.

For real. Whenever a married couple gets it on during the wife's period, it always ends in disaster. For that matter, what's she even doing in the house during her time of separation?

Odd that that doesn't happen to me or the billions of others around the world that aren't Christian.

Right-o.
"Why is it that some marginal Christians ignore the reasons why the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by fire no less?"
You mean inhospitable behavior toward strangers?

Yes, they can be.
It always ends in disaster
Yes, those demons can be pretty nasty, and the only way to keep them away is to pray (and self-flagellation, in extreme cases.) Luckily the rest of us are so depraved the demons leave us alone, since we're already lost causes.

That meaningless catchphrase is dead now. Sorry Deanna. It was a very OLD catchphrase. You're still young, you can find another.

Learn the reason yourself, or SHUT UP and stop bothering the adults.
Can the end of times be far away?
They are NEVER far away when crazy delusional religious nuts exist.
"If we admit that some infinite being has controlled the destinies of persons and peoples, history becomes a most cruel and bloody farce. Age after age, the strong have trampled upon the weak; the crafty and heartless have ensnared and enslaved the simple and innocent, and nowhere, in all the annals of mankind, has any god succored the oppressed."

Which parts? Stoning unruly offspring, marrying your brothers wife? Giving your children to strangers?

How come that hasn't happened to Bill Gates? Maybe Deanna is just looking for an excuse for why she keeps screwing up that doesn't involve admitting she's been lazy, stupid or unlikable.
Baby Boomers... People who use dynamite on kids?
Sodom and Gomorrah destroyed by dynamite? But not for what you think Deanna. Read the Bible again - and check what Jeremiah and Jesus give as the reason for their destruction. Then get some dynamite and blow yourself up to heaven to remind Jesus he's late with the Rapture.
This is my home city.
I'm so sad right now.

If I may quote your own choice of the 2nd coming,
G. W. Bush, "It's just a goddamned piece of paper."
"I guess it is no longer politically correct to stand up for the values, those of us who are Baby Boomers, were taught since childhood. I guess the Bible and the Ten Commandments are just old hat by now. "
This would have been the only sensible thing in that post, were it not for the EPIC grammar infringement in the first sentence.
Can't you people do ANYTHING right?
Confused?
