In 1996, Lance Armstrong contracted testicular cancer. He was told he had at best a 40% chance of surviving such, despite surgery & chemotherapy. Yet, with grit, determination, sheer bloodymindedness and balls (no pun intended), he beat it. He then went on to win seven Tour De Frances:

I'm no doctor or professor of medicine, but even I know that a mere case of staphylococcus. (emphasis added):
'The Staphylococcus genus includes at least 40 species. Of these, nine have two subspecies and one has three subspecies. Most are harmless and reside normally on the skin and mucous membranes of humans and other organisms'
Is trumped by an example of near-terminal cancer. Oh, and one more thing: if you're having to rely on modern, medical science to start with, instead of just praying your ailment away, you don't have much faith in your 'Faith', boy.
