(Why Don't some Christians believe in Tolerance for all?)
Tolerance is taught by those who are led by their feelings instead of their thoughts. God has only one way. He is intolerant. We must be about our Father's business, we can not be tolerant when the fate of the nation and ultimately the world is in question as it is today. Abortions, homosexuality, liberalism, sexual activity outside of marriage, cheating, lies and a host of other things are considered the norm today. All of it is against God. We cannot condone what God condemns.

Just a weirdo with self-esteem and sexual issues, armed with a powerful imaginary friend with whom he can establish telepathic communications. Belief in the supernatural and spiritual is reduced to - a mere political affiliation, combined with a dirty-minded obsession with other people's bedroom lives.. Talking about fact over emotion, but really totally unable to make a coherent argument, and aiming to replace science and logic with his petty certainties.
The Bible is a very vague document. If you cherry-pick the Bible, you can always invent your own extra-scriptural "what-if" and twist some passage to conclude that God agrees with something you already decided beforehand was true.
For example, there's no passage in the Bible that condemns abortion. But if you twist the definition of murder to include abortion, then you can claim "thou shalt not kill" means "thou shalt not commit abortion". But if God condemned abortion, He could have said so in plain words. He certainly went into all sorts of elaborate detail about who one is or isn't allowed to see naked or what animals one may eat. How can someone claim that God went into all this detail about nakedness and food, yet forgot to mention that "abortion is murder"? Aren't they just making up their own rules and pretending God agrees with them?

Actually, I'm led about equally by both , thankyouverymuch. At least I use my brain for something other than head-stuffing.
With every quote, I am more and more convinced that if their god existed, a rebellion would be in order. Who wants someone like that in charge of the universe? At least with no god around, the threat of damnation for a silly offense wouldn't be possible.

And that's just in the churches!

shiny mirror, etc...
These 'sins' have always been the norm. They still are today in certain European nations. God's wrath hasn't poored down yet. Jesus wasn't intolerant, except of the conservative religious elite. Jesus was extremely liberal, and it would have been a great thing if he had actually existed, and we didn't have the convoluted mess in the gospels that we have today. And why do you insist that America is god's chosen nation? It never has been, and never will be. I seem to recall that Jesus was non-political. He was more concerned with the kingdom of god and not so much with the kingdoms of earth. And there's nothing wrong with empathy. Jesus was actually empathic on occasion. So read your bible, get rid of those fundy attitudes, and get with the program.
We must be about our Father's business...
I'm 37 and my dad is dead. I have business of my own to be about.
All of it is against God.
Other things against God:
1. Sugar free desserts
2. Decaf coffee
3. The Phantom Menace; Attack of the Clones; Revenge of the Sith
4. Bad weed
5. Rose Tyler
6. Multiple versions of the same TV show (CSI, I'm looking at you)
7. Product placement in movies
8. Pay toilets
9. George Clooney playing Batman
10. Star Trek: Voyager/Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
You want to hate even more people than you already do.
Your hate is quite similar to that of an uneducated Muslim fanatic. Really, you should get together with one of them and compare notes.
IMO, your god is a crab louse.
"Tolerance is taught by those who are led by their feelings instead of their thoughts."
No. Not really. It's for people who realize that the only way society can function without becoming excessively embittered, fractured, and cruel to one another is by accepting the aspects of other people that cannot be helped, and, basically, to be empathetic.
Tolerance is taught by those who are led by their thoughts, and want people to be more prudent about which feelings they let lead them.
" Abortions, homosexuality, liberalism, sexual activity outside of marriage, cheating, lies and a host of other things are considered the norm today."
And yet this should have no relevance to you if you are living up to your own standards. You don't need to change the world, and are in fact discouraged from it. Just chew on your own sense of moral superiority, shut up, and everything will be alright.
"We cannot condone what God condemns."
Who's asking you to condone it? You don't have to like it, just ignore it.
Tolerance is taught by those who are led by their feelings instead of their thoughts.
No, that's generally what causes irrational hatred and phobias. To overcome such aversions requires rational thought, and lots of it.
Things like this remind me of Jimmy Swaggart; he would loudly breath hatred and condemnation to all sinners, yet when he was caught (literally) with his pants down, he was the first one to whimper, "But . . . but what about not judging others?"
Concern yourself with your own sins, GC. I'm sure you've got enough of them if you look real hard.
Abortions, homosexuality, liberalism, sexual activity outside of marriage, cheating, lies... are all in the Bible.
Bite me.
"All of it is against God. We cannot condone what God condemns. "
Don't you really mean: All of it is against our IDEA of God. We cannot condone what WE SAY God condemns.
I spoke to god today, he said please stop speaking for him and putting words in his mouth. You're embarrassing him.

So much for 'God's Love is Unconditional', eh? Ah, the hypocrisy of fundies. It knows no bounds.

- If that is the case, why can't the anti-LGBT come up with one single reasonable and legally valid reason to deny marriage equality? Their reasons usually run like this:
1) Marriage has always been one man-one woman (legally irrelevant)
2) Marriage equality will lead to legalized marriage with children and/or animals (a legal absurdity)
3) In general, people vote against marriage equality (precedent suggests that civil rights are not an issue to be decided by the electorate)
4) Studies show that gay relationships are unhealthy to individuals and to society (the studies they actually bother to cite are always shown to be fatally flawed and/or skewed)
When these arguments are countered, the anti--LBGT defenders immediately fall back onto shrill cries of "God will condemn you," "get lost homo" or the ever popular "won't someone PLEASE think of the children?!?" Clearly the opposition to marriage equality is NOT the product of thought, but rather of feelings. And, if you dispute this, then I pass the challenge to you: give us a reasonable, legally valid reason for opposing marriage equality.
Balls in your court G C
God actually must be tollerant because, let's be honest, he not only creates the very different religions but also grande them benefits from time to time. Second, you're not God. So?
Confused?
