Message: A straight person cannot marry the person of his choice; he can only marry the woman of his choice. Gays have the same right. Legally, they are both treated equally. ****Sexual attraction has never been a proponent for marriage.****
If two straight men wanted to marry for business advantages, just like many men and women do, that wouldn't be allowed. ****Marriage has nothing to do with love, attraction, or compatability.**** Straights marry for many reasons.
Straights and gays have the same choice, therefore, the same rights.

Sexual attraction has never been a proponent for marriage.
and
Marriage has nothing to do with love, attraction, or compatibility.
I remember that show: Married With Children.
Ok, so marriage is one big business arrangement for straight people and it doesn't matter if they even like each other let alone want to be with each other? I see. This is even too stupid for the word salad award.
@ Jesus Klingon, hey now, Al totally loved Peggy :p psycho dad, psycho dad...psycho dad!
So if marriage is not based on love, attraction, sexual attraction, or compatibility... uh, what IS it based on?
"****Sexual attraction has never been a proponent for marriage.****
I want to meet this Sexual Attraction person, and ask them why they're not a proponent of marriage.

What fucking century are you living in?
Paschal Wagner: Nice catch.
Nomobrain, I'm sorry that your culture's idea of marriage is so sad and retarded, but here in America, we usually marry people we at least think we're in love with.
In our (i.e. United States of America, and not Hicksville, Tenn.) culture of drive-through weddings and publicized romances, I don't think it's a grievance to allow two persons (male or female; females ARE human, you know) to marry for love, regardless of whether neither partner or both have a penis.
Therefore, NoMoBrain, I have but this to say: get laid fucker.
If this is true, then what is the problem with allowing gay marriage? According to this logic, it would increase the freedom even straight people have regarding marriage in that they can marry people of their same sex for business advantages.
I hate this argument.
"We can both marry someone of the opposite gender. You have the same rights."
"But if we introduce gay marriage, you can marry someone of the same sex. We'll still both have the same rights."
"But I don't WANT to marry someone of the same sex."
"I don't want to marry someone of the opposite sex."
"....well you should."
"A straight person cannot marry the person of his choice; he can only marry the woman of his choice. Gays have the same right."
people in wheelchairs can choose to use the stairs just like us right? Where giving them special rights by having those ramps?
I think Normobrian is using 'business advantages' as a euphamism for 'teh ghey buttsecks'. If you're a straight guy, do you really have a strong urge to marry another guy? Really? Just accept who you are and get to 'business', Normobrian.
Marriage has nothing to do with love, attraction, or compatability
And you people wonder why your divorce rate is so high.
Why the fuck am I going to waste my time and money by marrying a man I don't love?
Do you know how hard it is to have sex with someone you don't love?
I...what? How the fuck does this make sense to anyone on any level? Marriage has EVERYTHING to do with love, attraction and compatibility, ESPECIALLY if you're Christian! You know, the whole "Do you take this (blank) to be your lawfully wedded (blank), to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, as long as you both shall live?" How is that unrelated to love?
If love ISN'T related, and it really IS just a business contract, how can you get all up in arms about the "sanctity of marriage"? There's nothing sacred about a business contract.
If two straight men wanted to marry for business advantages,
So thats what you tell yourself when you fantasize about Ted in accounting?
Except what you're talking about is heterosexual marriage. Why would a homosexual want a heterosexual marriage? Although it's a crazy version of hetero marriage where people seem to choose their spouses by a drawing.
Women couldn't vote. But, you know, their husbands would do it in their place. So it wasn't an all-male institution.
Actually, the problem lies on the fact that, the moment you veto two consentimiento adults into marketing for no good reason, there is a violation of the rights of those people. In fact, those heterosexuals you mentioned may not love their wives but were not coerced or vetoed in their choice, that's the point
I'm really sorry to hear about your loveless marriage. That explains a lot about your bleak and hateful attitude toward gays, because I'm sure you wouldn't want any one to have more passion in their life than you do. Hell, I've been a widow for nine years and I still have more passion.
This straight person married the person of HER choice. Yes, women are persons too.
Straights mostly marry for love and attraction.
My marriage is a union of love, attraction and compatability[sic].
I'd say the marriage of Ellen DeGeneres and that of George Takei are also unions of love, attraction and "compatability", and both married the person of THEIR choices. George and Brad were together for over 20 years before they were allowed to marry.
Straights and gays NOW have the same choice, therefore, the same right. There are many rights that gays still don't have, though, that straights take for granted.
Wrong. Sexual atraction IS part of the expectations of marriage.
That's why if you have a contract marriage for a green card, but NEVER HAVE SEX, they call it a fraud and do not give you the green card
Confused?
