To his credit, his understanding of evolution at age 5 was probably equivalent to any adult creationist's understanding of it.

In other words, his family told him to ignore those \"evilutionist\" teachings he had gotten in kindergarten about dinosaurs existing, then made sure he memorized the creationist doctrine and made it clear that he wasn't permitted to consider any other ideas, ever.
What Jedi_Templar has just confirmed is that he is a victim of child abuse.

Well, if we use the normal fundie understanding of evolution as being cats giving birth to washing machines, then he probably did grasp it at age 5.
Real evolution, on the other hand...no. Not then, not now, and probably not ever.

Or to phrase it better.
You know no more about evolution than you did when you were five, and you knew nothing about it then.
Let's compare it to other things. Do you know more about girls, cars, food, written and spoken language, your job, or the world then you did when you were five?
We call this mindset willful ignorance.
