Quote# 52517

Hovind is behind bars not because his science is wrong, but because HE WAS EFFECTIVE. So they set him up and snagged him on a technicality under the rules of exemption for the corporate excise tax laws and sent him to prison. The jury was hand-picked and carefully prevented from actually reading the laws or getting any information about the right of jury nullification. Your tactic is called a smear, and you are the worst kind of deceiver. Plenty of good men are either dead or in prison because they were effective in their efforts to expose the lies of the NWO control freaks. Since you are a false accuser, it is YOU who should suffer the penalty of the one who is falsely accused. Vengeance is mine, I will repay saith the Lord.

"but because HE WAS EFFECTIVE"

Yeah, Hovind was an unstoppable, unopposable force in the scientific community before that arrest...

Yeah, he is effective at showing his ignorance. Hovind is no threat to science. The only people that buy his b.s. are people that already believe the way he does, so he effectively preaches to his own choir.

While not an attorney, I was not aware that tax evasion was a 'technicality'...nor was I aware that the IRS worked at the behest of 'evolutionists'...does that mean the IRS will do my personal bidding?

I wasn't aware tax fraud was a technicality.

Is murder like a misdemeanor, then?

No, he is in jail because he lied about his taxes and he had no hardship excuses either..the man was making money hand over fist and claimed things as religious exemptions illegally.

Hovind is behind bars not because his science is wrong, although obviously it is, but because HE WAS EFFECTIVE. So? Charlatans are nothing if not good communicators. Why do you think tele-evangelists make such a good living?

As I've said in response to another post, many creationist leaders were distancing themselves from the appalling Hovind even before his financial sins found him out.

If you mean "effective at evading taxes," then yes.

Oh honestly, he is a felon, get over it.

Maybe he should have read his bible better. Didn't Jesus say something about "Render unto Ceaser what is Ceaser's..."

"Hovind is behind bars not because his science is wrong, but because HE WAS EFFECTIVE."

Effective at what? Dodging taxes? As far as his "science," even the more "moderate" creationists despised Hovind. Get real. Also, having "wrong science" isn't a crime, idiot.

"So they set him up and snagged him on a technicality..."

Ummm... no. Tax evasion isn't considered a "technicality," actually. You're one of the dumber posts I've seen on here recently.

"... under the rules of exemption for the corporate excise tax laws and sent him to prison. The jury was hand-picked and carefully prevented from actually reading the laws or getting any information about the right of jury nullification."

I'm curious as to how long before someone starts a "Mark Cuban was set up because he didn't like Bush" conspiracy. Anyone seen one of those yet?

"Plenty of good men are either dead or in prison because they were effective in their efforts to expose the lies of the NWO control freaks."

To repeat: Hovind was not effective at anything except further disgracing the (already pathetic and laughable) creationist pseudo-scientific movement. As far as "control freaks," you guys who want to run the world by a bad 2,000-year-old novel would fit that description perfectly.

"Since you are a false accuser, it is YOU who should suffer the penalty of the one who is falsely accused."

Whazzat? Are you a Saudi judge or something?

"Vengeance is mine, I will repay saith the Lord."

Get off the 'shrooms, fuckhead. No gods are talking to you.

. . . but because his tax accounting is wrong. But his science is also shit.

What's depressing is Hovind was effective. He was able to dupe the fundie masses, many of whom are fairly well educated into believing his bullshit.

As a criminal, Hovind was definitely innefective. He got caught and jailed. However, as a con artist, he does good work. You are proof of this.
