Quote# 52577

I do not deny the existence of so-called homosexuality, although I have some reservation as to the merits of the word - homosexuality, invented by homosexual protagonists, and comparison to men and women relationships.

a mind far far away

It's in English, but I can't understand a word of it. Can anyone decipher it for the rest of us?

Homosexual protagonists? You mean like Achilles?

X-Acto Dyke

He was saying that in response to my comment.

I see he's changed his name too.

Homosexual protagonists?

This looks like English but it's nonsensical.

11/21/2008 11:48:18 PM

No thanks, I'll have the soup.

X-Acto Dyke: Cool name! \m/

Sorry if that derailed it a bit. I just had to say it, because I ONLY SPEAK THE TRUTH!

What the fuck does this literary garbage even mean? SmokinJoe, are you essentially illiterate?

11/22/2008 12:03:15 AM

Ahh, good. No one else could understand it, either.

For a minute, I thought I was stupid.

So, wait ... you're saying that the word "homosexuality" was invented by homosexual proponents?

The Merriam-Webster online dictionary lists the word as dating back to 1892. Unless there was a Gay Rights movement in 1892 that nobody told me about, you're full of poop.

What are you smokin'... Joe?

11/22/2008 1:53:53 AM

Well, sure, the word "homosexuality" was invented in the late 19th century, and the concept only a little bit earlier - but not by "protagonists" or any other fictional characters. I don't understand the point, though.

...Maybe he's arguing that heterosexual/homosexual is a false dichotomy, or something?

I'm not sure this is comprehensible enough to even determine if it's fundie.

11/22/2008 1:56:54 AM

Why would someone make a homosexual protagonist, if there was no homosexuality in the first place?

I know a guy with a dog with this name. I really hope it isn't him since I like the guy.

11/22/2008 2:05:54 AM

...you know, I don't think you're in the place to challenge the merits of a word.

From what I gather, he thinks homosexuality is real, so...what, it's a bunch of straights pretending to be faggots for the lulz? Newsflash, teenage girls don't represent America as a whole.

Old Viking

Joe, we know there's something on your mind. Now tell us what it is.

11/22/2008 2:41:01 AM

Reverend Jeremiah

umm..so homosexuals invented homosexuality? Who would have ever thought..

After giving this a second, then a third glance, I think SmokinJoe meant to say "proponents" instead of "protagonists".

Makes more sense now, I think.

"I do not deny the existence of so-called homosexuality"

This is self-contradicting.

"so-called" is the xian way of saying something is bullshit.
(from Tim 6:20)

The rest is word salad.

BTW, what do you think Joe is smokin'?

11/22/2008 4:06:38 AM

So gays created the word homosexuality? Dhaaa!!! I like beating myself im ba head wif a hamamer!

11/22/2008 4:19:52 AM

Homosexuality is a fact of life. As for the word itself, you got a degree in etymology?

11/22/2008 4:53:26 AM

homosexual protagonists

I do not think that word means what you think it means.
