Quote# 52613

Charles Darwin said women bred the hair off of the men - because why aren't men as hairy as apes? - Darwin said women prefer less hairy men and so they were able to get more mating opportunities - Darwin said in The Descent of Man - what an idiot idea - then why don't the women have beards, Darwin?

Okay. Even if this weren't ALL completely crazy, Hovind:

By your own logic, women wouldn't have beards because men do not prefer women with beards in general.

Except you. Because you're a hair fetishist. Because you're fucking Kent Hovind.

11/18/2008 6:21:32 PM

well, Kent, it would follow that most men also prefer less hairy mates. perhaps it's you who likes kissing someone with a beard.

11/18/2008 6:22:15 PM

Tom S. Fox

Err ... because men also prefer women without beards?

Seriously, what kind of stupid question is that?

11/18/2008 6:22:25 PM

Head, meet desk.

11/18/2008 6:27:38 PM

That is indeed an idiot idea, but it was never Darwin's.

I have a beard, If you are a woman, you will have one too, It's called menopause.I now shave more than my husband. It's your hormones at work.

Needs to come out of the closet.

11/18/2008 6:44:17 PM

Mister Spak

You need to go back and read your own post. Also be less obsessed with the 19th century, we have a new one now.

11/18/2008 6:46:23 PM

...Who taught you logic? D:

11/18/2008 6:49:44 PM

I think someone's trying to justify his "bear" fetish--and I don't mean the animal.

11/18/2008 6:52:25 PM

Too idiotic for a witty response

11/18/2008 6:53:17 PM

Kent, lying for Jesus?

Well, you're already in prision for lying to Uncle Sam.

11/18/2008 6:53:45 PM

Because men selected them out?

11/18/2008 7:15:17 PM

El Zorro

Kent Hovind gets a rating of five for just being Kent Hovind.

Jack Bauer

If you want Bubba to shave off those womanly whiskers, just ask him nicely when you next get some quality alone time.

11/18/2008 7:17:27 PM

Logic, you're doing it wrong.

11/18/2008 7:29:06 PM

Kent, just do your time, pay your taxes and shut up.

11/18/2008 7:31:45 PM

Hmm. I seem to recall there is a group on the Indian subcontinent where the men preferhairy women. Saw it on a CBC documentary once. We're talking unibrow and black hair on the arms here. So what do you have to say to that, Kent?

Oh, right. You are busy making sure you don't drop the soap.

11/18/2008 7:35:23 PM

The L

Wow. I haven't read Darwin's books, yet I know far more about his theory of evolution than "Dr" Hovind. This does not speak well of me, so much as it speaks very ill of Hovind.

11/18/2008 7:41:48 PM

Now now, guys, Kent said this in October 2006, BEFORE he was incarcerated.

Clearly, he's seen bearded women since then.

11/18/2008 7:42:38 PM

It's Hovind, vote 5 and move on.

11/18/2008 8:12:08 PM

Why are you talking to a dead man, Hovind?

11/18/2008 8:21:26 PM

Not all men can grow beards, either. The degree of facial and body hair varies widely between people and between populations.

Also, there are other hypotheses of why humans lost hair.

Old Viking

I bet there are a lot of interesting preferences in the slammer.

11/18/2008 8:34:39 PM

In this argument, he neglects to make the connection of statements: male and female apes are hairy. Darwin (apparently) only talks about why men lost hair through evolution. So why did women loose their hair? Sadly for him there are many answers to this already proposed and supported in the theory of evolution, so he just looks ill-educated, rather than clever.
