God in His wisdom has placed a string of volcanoes down the inner west coast. These are much closer to Seattle and Portland (Oregon has been blue for some time now also). These volcanoes are all still active, just like Mt St. Helens. Scientists monitor them and know they could become active anytime. Just like the earthquake faults down the California coast, in due time God will execute His judgment on those who desert Him and turn to this kind of activity. The earthquakes, if they occur on the San Andreas fault out under the Pacific floor, will generate a tsunami that will hit the west coast with virtually no warning, in less than 30 minutes.
It will not be pretty, but judgment never is.

So why do all the tornadoes wreak havoc in the red states? And why were the southern parts of Louisiana, a red state, devastated by a hurricane twice ? And let's not forget what happened in Texas this year... Meanwhile, nothing in California or New England, the most liberal parts of America... Are you really sure your God is on your side?
The south overhwhelmingly agrees with your pathetic, dumbass bigotry and we get hit by atleast 3 hurricanes a year. Whats the explanation for that? are we accomplices to the west coast's debauchery or could it be that these areas have completely natural disasters that are bound to happen eventually no matter whos living there?
I get it!
MICHIGAN is blue, so it's being punished with high unemployment and a wrecked economy!
But...Wisconson is blue...where's the hate for Wisconsin?
@Route66 : WTF is he on about, Dems or gays?
Both. Anything and everything that he disagrees with. And when the inevitable earthquake or volcanic eruption occurs, he can scream about judgments and jerk off in his bathroom.
Being a proud Seattleite, I have to say: it's much prettier and friendlier here. I'd prefer to live in our temperate rain forests, nestled next to untouched mountains than, say, south where they deal with droughts and hurricanes, or on the north-east coast where they get blizzards and scorching heat, or the mid-east where you get the occasional tornado or dustbowl. Bleach.
BTW, we've figured out how earthquakes cause damage and built around that. We had an 6.9 earthquake about a month after Bush got into office (talk about ill omens) and the only damage was to a couple brick buildings built over a century ago. Not that the 'big one' we're expecting can't be worse, but at least know our flaws and we're mostly prepared.
Also, St. Helens can't affect Seattle; it's too far away to be hit with lava and the winds would carry any ash in a different direction. Mt. Rainier is the major one we're worried about, but even then the worst it would do is clog up Puget Sound. Tacoma's the one in danger there. The lava and ash aren't going to be a problem- it's the damn lahars that we're worried about.
So what's God cooking up to punish those guys in the Netherlands or whereever I keep hearing about?
Most atheist country, smokes pot, super-liberal... What's going on there?

Citation needed, mother fucker.

There is a problem with you scenario, the San Andreas Fault runs along the interior and not under the pacific floor. Any tsunamis that would be generated would head westward out to sea.
If volcanos and earthquake are supposed th be "god's" weapon of vengence against liberals, then why aren't there any of them in New England? Why do natural disaster strike so much more often in the predominently red midwest and deep south?
The San Andreas fault is on the land.
California is burning since they passed prop8
Tornadoes in the bible belt
Hurricanes in the bible belt
Canada, pretty much natural disaster free and way more liberal than California (we have gay marriage and will gladly trade you one gay for a fundie).
So your point again was?
... God will execute his judgment ... [i/]
From what I've seen during my first 76 years, God couldn't execute a judgment at a dog show.
It will not be pretty, but judgment never is.
That depends on the judgement.
You, for example, judge non-fundies to be Hellbound and eeeeebil. That is not pretty.
I, and everyone else here, judge fundies to be batshit insane and lacking the common sense of a common-or-garden variety hedgehog.
And them's purty werds, I think we all agree.
@ Snarky McWhiterson: We already have enough flowers here. :) We're not called the "city of roses" just for yucks and giggles. We appreciate the kindness, though. Maybe you could do us a favor and take eastern Oregon? That's where most of our fundies live.
@ReadyForDepature: Mt St. Helens already erupted. Nothing happened except a lot of smoke. Nothing is going to happen to Oregon except maybe the occasional ice storm and strong winds, but that's what we get for living in a valley.
Hmm, according to your scenario we may be blown off the map...but damn it is pretty here. Relatively natural disaster free, some of the best wilderness areas around. Life if pretty good for us. Btw....Mount St. Helens? Closer towns like Toutle and Castle Rock. Bet you have never heard of them. It has erupted before in the recent past...both towns are still there. Geography/prediction fail.
Now Mount Rainer would be a show to watch. But even that wouldn't kill very many of us. Keep hoping and praying and while you are doing that, we will keep passing laws that make your heads spin.

Riley- I'm in Chilliwack, BC and Mt.Baker is directly south of me. Look on Google Earth, it's directly south "as the crow flies"
My mother works in Abbotsford and has a co-worker that moved here from back east somewhere, and she is terrified of earthquakes/practically any natural disaster. So my mother took her out to the parking lot, pointed at Mt. Baker and basically said "hey look, it's a volcano" The look on her face was supposedly priceless.
I think the co-worker would've packed up if she was told about Mt. Garibaldi belt a few hours north :)
(and that's just two of the major volcanoes around here)
St. Helens? Both Washington and Oregon voted for Ford in 1976 and yet they got punished by the May 1980 eruption. As for Oregon being blue for some time, it's only voted Democrat since 1988.
Now, kindly die in a fire.
You are aware of how stupid you sound right? I mean I am a christian too and you are just being pathetic. Enough scare tactics...you'd have thought by now you would understand how the hell to talk to people but noooooo, you are just content in trying to scare the shit out of people. You are a disgrace to our religion and don't need to be talking anymore. You're existence is useless and you are bringing down the collective intelligence of humanity you dumb jerk. SHUT...UP.
Confused?
