I showed it to my 6 year old daughter and was explaining to her that this was a person's interpretation of what heaven would look like. She was ECSTATIC....and wanted to die right now and go be with Jesus!

Why are things like this not considered child abuse? I can only surmise that it's because it's done under the guise of religion so that makes it a-ok.

But what if she does something wrong when she turns 12, like commiting blasphemy, which according to your book is the unforgivable sin, from which there can be no forgivensess. Perhaps you should do something about mitigating this possibility. I am not suggesting murder - just train her not to talk or think (oh, wait... - better get her "bark" removed as some people do with dogs.

You can be rest assured that my daughter is safe, and loved - by me and God. So - no need for you all to worry about her safety or her mental state of mind. She is a beautiful, charming, loving and adorable little girl - who loves God. She is a 6 year old little girl...making a comment from the understanding of a 6 year old. She has no true death wish, nor suicide tendencies...you can be sure. She just loves God - and knows how much He loves her..and would love to see Him.
I get that you don't agree with our beliefs - and that is your right. However, I would really appreciate it if you could refrain from saying the terrible things you have about me and mine.

Oh, and WaitingForHim: Your child is suicidal. She said she wants to die. That's kind of what the word means.
This is the beginning of something that can only turn out one of a few ways. Either she does kill herself one day, or she lives a life full of misery waiting for death, or she doesn't realize what she was saying and rejects her faith when she's older and wiser.
I'm not going to argue with you guys. But I am NOT teaching her it's okay to die. You are all completely wrong on this. But - I know my words aren't going to change your mind. So - all I can say is that I hope and pray that, somehow, you all find a way to stop being so mean-spirited.
My daughter is PRECIOUS in God's sight. And, He understands her words...exactly. Even if you people don't.

I will give you the benefit of believing that you love your child as much as any parent can love their child. However the stark statement you made is worrying.
Regardless of belief, we are in this world; a parent should teach their child to enjoy it, and live life to the full - as a Christian, you believe it is a gift from your god, therefore to waste it in anticipation for death is not a good thing.
You teach your child that death is part of life and nothing to be afraid of, but equally something not to be sought wilfully. So matter how beautiful and wonderful you believe the herafter to be, you don't accelerate your meeting with the end. Tell her that, and she has a chance of finding contentment in this world, however she believes.
