If the Bible was so BS why are you spending time in it? If you disbelieve...keep it to yourself? You took all this time to prove it was false..obviously you were seeking something...
One more thing...if you wrote a book today and it was found 200 years from now..people probably will think it is false because the technology 200 years from now will probably be too amazing. Stop testing and tempting God. He has nothing to prove to you. He is probably laughing at how complicated man has to make everything....

Oh, I don't know. It rather directly affects about 1/3 of the world's population.
But I suppose you're not so much familiar with the word "knowledge".
lisaisbizness : If you disbelieve...keep it to yourself
Sounds good. You do the same.

Yes. We all think what was anything written in 1808 is false....
If the Bible was so BS why are you spending time in it?
Well, we wouldn't know if it's bullshit unless we read it, dumbass. Besides, regardless of whether you believe something, it's still important to be educated about it, that way you don't look like an idiot when you find yourself in a heated debate.
I love the scale. Change that to nearly 2000 years, and you may have a point. Of course, by then things may have changed so much that not only would the culture I speak about be completely alien, but many of the claims I made would likely have been refuted.
"if you wrote a book today and it was found 200 years from now..people probably will think it is false because the technology 200 years from now will probably be too amazing."
You forgot the part where there's something wrong with that. If a newer book contained more accurate information than I would rather people use that one than my older inaccurate book.
Also, as we're not fanatical literalist morons, we don't conclude that the Bible is utterly worthless just because it's not literally true. As a collection of ancient texts it's of great anthropological and psychological value, if only because so many people still claim to follow its dictates.

No, He's probably sad at how simple dumb-ass rednecks want to believe it is, instead of trying to learn something.
"If the Bible was so BS why are you spending time in it?"
I gave it a fair reading, same as anything else. It doesn't live up to the claims made about it.
"One more thing...if you wrote a book today and it was found 200 years from now..people probably will think it is false because the technology 200 years from now will probably be too amazing."
Which is fine... if the bible was written by fallible men of limited learning. My knowledge may date in 200 years (if that long, it's only been 20 years since I was a full time biologist and almost everything I knew back then is halfway obsolete), but I wouldn't expect the person you say knows everything and created the universe and all the laws it operates by to fall behind quite so quickly.
"Stop testing and tempting God. He has nothing to prove to you."
No. What God has to prove to me is his existence, otherwise why worship him and not Cthulhu, the FSM or Tarvu?
The reason most atheists and non-christians spend so much time in the bible is that christians have made the challenge that it is perfect. Therefore, one has to read it to understand that it is bullshit. Nothing in the bible is worth anything useful, it's a waste of time. That's been proven time and time again. Fundies don't understand that because they have lost the ability to think for themselves. You're second paragraph is bullshit also. Hisotry isn't challenging based simply on the technology of a certain time period. We can understand whether a book written 200 years ago is true or not based on outside sources. The technology has nothing to do with it. And yes, your god has everything to prove to us. Most of us have spent a considerable amount of time worshipping that childish good for nothing bastard, only to realize that if he is real, he doesn't really give a flying shit about anyonne or anything. All that matters to him is his sick, twisted game. Your god and bible are a waste of time.
One more thing...if you wrote a book today and it was found 200 years from now..people probably will think it is false because the technology 200 years from now will probably be too amazing.
And you know what?
That would be absolutely O.K.
Science progresses...
today we don´t believe anymore that space is filled up with a substance called ether, like people 150 years ago still believed, as we made experiments that disproved it;
we also don´t believe anymore that seeing consists of the eye actively emitting rays like people in medieval times believed.
So if people in 200 years from now on think that a book published today is false, because science has disproved the things contained within, I wouldn´t see any problem.
That´s the difference between science and the bible...
science progresses with new observations and theories, whereas the bible is statical and therefore cannot progress beyond the world view of its authors which lived 2000-3000 years ago (regardless of the desperate attempts by believers in the literal truth of the bible, to interpret its content so that it fits into our modern knowledge)
"If the Bible was so BS why are you spending time in it? If you disbelieve...keep it to yourself?"
I'll keep my disbelief to myself if you'll keep your belief to yourself. Deal?
"You took all this time to prove it was false..obviously you were seeking something..."
Yes, truth. Unfortunately it's not to be found in your muddled book of insanity.
"One more thing...if you wrote a book today and it was found 200 years from now..people probably will think it is false because the technology 200 years from now will probably be too amazing. Stop testing and tempting God. He has nothing to prove to you."
Your god has quite a lot to prove to me if he expects me to believe he exists and wants me to worship him.
"He is probably laughing at how complicated man has to make everything...."
Your god apparently doesn't exist. I doubt he's laughing at much.
He is probably laughing ..
Oh noes... Old Big-G is drunk again and stoned out of his mind. He ALWAYS get the giggles... Put him to bed, will ya? He'll be alright in the morning...
Stop testing and tempting God.
Testing God isn't the same thing as testing a book by some bronze-age Arab goat-herders. Stop putting stupid 3,500 year old human words in God's mouth.
Stop testing and tempting God. He has nothing to prove to you.
How about his existence? After that, how about that he's worthy of the worship he demands? If the bible is accurate, your God isn't worthy of being stepped on, much less worshiped.
Honestly, if you come to me saying you'll keep your beliefs to yourself, I'll gladly do the same.
If you disbelieve...keep it to yourself?
Maybe you should keep YOUR believes to yourself.
He is probably laughing at how complicated man has to make everything....
He's probably laughing at how stupid man is...
"if you wrote a book today and it was found 200 years from now..people probably will think it is false because the technology 200 years from now will probably be too amazing."
Exactly.
And modern science has hugely discredited the Bible.
Plus, God hasn't even shown himself conclusively.
If the Bible was so BS why are you spending time in it?
Speaking only for myself, I find that I am compelled by my unstinting intellectual honesty to become familiar with the subject matter before I begin forming and expressing opinions on it.
If you disbelieve...keep it to yourself?
I express my personal disbelief because the believers spend billions of dollars each year to spread their malignant cancer throughout Human civilization.

The only reason we keep going on about it is because you assholes keep trying to shove it down our throats. If Christianity disappeared overnight, then FSTDT would close down in a snap.
Also, the Bible was written 2000 years ago, not 200, by ignorant, primitive tribesmen trying to justify their existence. Also, they had no fucking idea how the world worked.
If the Bible is, word-for-word, true, and God has the nasty personality depicted therein, we are in deep shit. Yes, even you devout born-again, evangelical Christians are in trouble because you haven't followed all of God's 613 commandments. Yes, 613, not 10. When was the last time you stoned anyone for working on the Sabbath? The Bible is not just bullshit, it is a wicked book if all of God's dictates are followed. Fortunately, there is no God and no hell in which sinners will suffer for eternity. The corollary is that there is no heaven where you chosen few sweet-assed Christians will float around on clouds chanting and singing the praises of the Lord. If there was a God, we should thank him that none of these fictions exists. RAmen.
Because it's fun to mess with fundies.
Burden of proof doesn't work like that, dearie. You're the ones who have to prove that it has any validity.
Yup, we were seeking some fundies to make fun of.
So, God only has the technology that existed 4000-2000 years ago? He, then, ought to be worshiping us.
He's much more complicated than us, honey. If he can create the whole world from nothing, why did he have to use a flood and an ark to start over again?
I love spending time in Potterverse. I know it's just as imaginary as the Bible-verse, but it's much less contradictory and much more coherent.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
