[Replying to 'a woman is to stay with an abusive husband and just take it?'] That is pretty much what the Bible says.

That's pretty much the universal justification for everything Christians do.

Then you are an idiot.

"I want a single shot of whisky, and a double shot of whisky, and she'll have water. You know, what the hell. It's our anniversary. Would you bring her a Pepsi?"

Correct, that is pretty much what the Bible says. Now you need to decide whether the Bible is right about that particular issue.

So much for the Bible....

Staying away from an abusive husband is the only time I would accept divorce. I'd hate to see a female with bruises and cuts on her body just because her man has lacks respect. It pisses me off that we got jackasses in this planet who get married yet there are single men who wouldn't hurt anybody but they get no lover.
Sorry I went offtopic. I just had to get it off of me. I've been keeping it inside for too long.

Well, good news! The Bible's wrong on that point.

We ought to have a "Fundies Don't Read Their Fucking Bibles!" site just for shit like this.
Every wannabe "lord of the house" knows Ephesians 5:22, "Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord." yet none of them seem to have read the verse just one line above it, Ephesians 5:21, "Submit
to one another
out of reverence for Christ."
Who hasn't heard "For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Saviour. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything." (Ephesians 5:23-24)? Yet the very same people who spout that crap seem to forget what comes straight after it, "Husbands, love your wives [...] husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself."
But hey, aren't wives the property of their husbands in the bible? Not according to 1 Corinthians 7:4, "The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife."
So, no, the bible doesn't give men
to beat on their wives, and, no, the wives do not have "just take it". Oh, and guess what, if the asshole keeps on doing it? Well I guess he isn't a "true Christian" then, ignoring the bible like that and all, and you know what the bible says about
don't we? In 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"
Divorce the douche, and take him for every plugged nickel!

How convenient for you that, as a male, you will never have to "just take it".
