So, in other words, you become a useless person, a person who never helps thier fellow man, who does nothing for anyone, even themselves. You stop working, you stop having fun, you stop everything. It is nothing more than a breathing suicide. That people actually follow this insane philosophy from a moronic inbred prince who couldn't even "let go" of his massive gut, that died with nothing but his filthy cloak and a burst stomach is depressing.

Buddhists seek to do good in the world. We give to charities, seek to improve the world and thing s like that. And unlike Christ-stains, we have started few, if any, wars.

Buddhism doesn't work that way. I've studied it enough to know. Nirvana is the goal of Buddhists, and it's something that happens in the afterlife. Not here, although it is possible to attain Buddhahood here. And Siddhartha Guatama was not overweight. You are thinking of later Buddhas. Siddhartha was actually quite fit, as he was a prince, vegetarian, and a martial artist. So do a little more research, dumbass, before you go spouting about shit you know nothing about.

It was all sent directly to a Buddhist Monk known to the Board owner, no overhead wastage at all) who spent three months travelling to all the worst hit areas to provide rice, water, clothing, roofing and other essectials to the people in need. The only thing he got from it was a new camera, because his was lost during the trek he made, and he even asked permission to do that..

The fat guy? Yeah, not Buddha. Your probably thinking of the guy you see at Chinese restaurants. He's actually a Chinese prosperity god, sometimes covered in lots of children. He's basically a good luck charm. There's also a chubby japanese one that was based on a Buddhist monk, but I doub't you'd know about that.

There are different types of Buddhism and in some parts (like Thailand), Buddhism is the official religion. (And some extremist Buddhist sects hunt down and kill Christians, but they're waaaay in the minority).

Also, remember that Buddha basically was a super bad ass who killed people. Hindu Princes don't get to be leaders unless they can fight. He probably got his first sword at the age of 5, learnt to shoot by 7, could ride well by 9. Knew military tactics and administration by 12. And had probably killed someone by the age of 15 in open warfare.
Although we do know that he died probably from Trichonosis. Remember that Buddha was an ATHEIST. He actually abhorred the concept of Gods. His entire point is, suffering is inately a human concept. If you don't CARE about suffering then you won't suffer. AKA, you are hungry because your body needs food. If somehow you can satisfy the hunger then you are no longer hungry. The point of the middle way is to not indulge in gluttony but neither to starve yourself.
I forgot to say this in my first comment, but I give a huge pile of kudos to the monk mentioned in fromdownunder's post. The guy deserves it, unlike some Christians whose only goal is to convert people when they visit third-world countries and disaster areas.

As for the fat buddha, that's not only another buddha, who is still to come, it's also a metaphor. He's fat because he carries the sorrows of the world in his belly, in spite of that he laughs.

As for buddhist theology, its not about inactivity, but about right action. Although I gather that at least some schools do suggest inactivity when there is uncertainty towards what the right action is, the religion is most certainly not about inactivity as a rule.
Non-conversion religions are allright like that, they mind their own business.
