Atheists indoctrinate the weak minded, they aren't the brightest lot.
Even though I didn't come from a very religious Christian (Lutheran) family, I used to be religious when I was a child. But as the years went by, I began thinking about my faith rationally, weighing the good and bad sides of religion, and so I gradually became agnostic. Then for years I was undecided, wondering whether there really is a God or not, until this year I finally declared myself an Atheist and a Secular Humanist.
You know why? Because it makes sense. I thought it through, read the Bible, and the Qur'an, and saw religion, especially Christianity, and Christians for what they really are: Bronze Age lies propagated by hypocrites and fear mongers who choose to cherrypick the parts they like and also discard the very core of what Jesus taught:
Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22:34-40)
"Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets." (Matthew 7:12)
Too bad the ethic of reciprocity seems to be lost to so many "Christians," especially those of the Protestant type. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. (Galatians 6:7)

So bad things that happen to people you don't like are a divine punishment, but when they happen to you, they are a test of faith. Mmmkay...
