Quote# 53086

Really? You're life has just been so marvelously wonderful and you've never wondered why it is that we crazy Christians insist that ours is better? Could it be that maybe we've been on both sides and we know what we are talking about? Been there, done that and living without Christ is empty and meaningless. You will never convince me that you are "oh so very happy" without Him. I know the truth.

What is it with atheists not being able to understand that there is no "I" in God? It's not about what we think, it's what God says!!! Yes I have the truth, and you do not.

"It's not about what we think, it's what God says!!! Yes I have the truth, and you do not."

And let me guess, since you *and not the other 500 denominations* are privy to the absolute truth you don't have to present any evidence for your claims?

So, maybe you could be kind enough to explain to me why 75% of the US prison population claims to be Christian compared to less that 1% atheist? Wait... could it be... free anal sex?

Could it be that maybe we've been on both sides and we know what we are talking about?

Same with plenty of atheists.

You will never convince me that you are "oh so very happy" without Him. I know the truth.

Not trying to. Feel free to enslave your mind and trouble your heart with such a disgusting God and his "word."

"What is it with atheists not being able to understand that there is no 'I' in God?"

Um, there is no "us" or "me" either, dumbass.

"It's not about what we think, it's what God says. Yes I have the truth, and you do not."

You just said that there is no "I" in God. Incidentally, there is no "hubris" either.

What is it with atheists not being able to understand that there is no "I" in God?

What is it with Christians not being able to understand that there is no "f" in God?

"Yes I have the truth, and you do not."

Of course you do. Bye=bye. Have a nice life.

You say there is no 'I' in God, but 'I' seems to be your favorite pronoun. And your 'truth' is no different than any other religions' 'truth'.

There is no need to convince you that my life is better than yours, with all your bowing and scraping. The proof is my happy life.

"What is it with atheists not being able to understand that there is no "I" in God?"

Maybe not, but there is an "O". As in, "OH. I don't give a shit."

#837335 Anyone can claim to be anything, the fact that those people have been convicted of crimes is some indication of how seriously they take their pursuit of truth and emulation of Christ. Furthermore, most of America is nominally Christian, thus the bulk of prisoners are proportionately so.

Ah, the good old No True Scotsman rears it head.

"What is it with atheists not being able to understand that there is no "I" in God? It's not about what we think, it's what God says!!!"

What is it with Christians not being able to understand that there is no "God" in reality? It's not about what we want to believe, it's what is actually real!!!

Oh, yes. The whole "My life is so much better than yours" argument. You also know what you're saying if you read between the lines? "I'm so much better than you!" that's what you're saying. That's the kind of people that make me sick.

You will never convince me that you are "oh so very happy" without Him.

Odd that the Jews that I know seem to lead full and meaningful lives. Hindus likewise. How do you define "meaningful? Being an smug, arrogant, obnoxious and prideful person does not count, at least according to the Jewish carpenter you claim to follow or (at least) brag that you have in your life.

Yes I have the truth, and you do not.

Well bully for you. That and $3.25 will buy you a latte at Starbucks.

Living without Christ does not have to be meaningless. Just look around in this cosmos of which we all are part. Can you seriously say that there is nothing at all in it that moves you, makes you think, or gives you a sense of wonder? Really? How sad indeed.

Wow, he is so happy with his bowing and scraping he has to come here and comment anonymously.

But he didn't, because he can't, gainsay that my life is happy. (smiles happily)

Just because YOUR life was empty and meaningless before you started indulging in your pathetic escapist fantasies, does not mean the rest of our lives are.

You can't win with these losers. Even if you were the happiest person on earth they would think that you were lying or teh debbil was making you say it. They're hopeless.

Perhaps it could be that you've been on both sides and your experience says yours is the better.
But most of us Atheists have been on both sides and our eperience says this is better.
Whether you're deceiving yourself into believing in Allah, Jesus, Thor, Osiris or Shiva, you all get the same mental 'happy pill' from your self deception. This emotion is not evidence of anything other than your ability to induce emotion.
There's a reason people say "Without faith, Christianity sounds crazy".
That's because it is.
What would the universe look like if there was a God?
1) He wouldn't play stupid hide and seek games. There would be unequivocal evidence of his existance.
2) The way prayers get answered would be unequivocal. It might be a firm "no" to fit a divine plan, or it might be "yes", but they would be answered differently from the way a shamrock or your left shoe answers prayers.
3) The evidence in the universe would match the account given in Holy Books, from fossils, physics, maths and history.
4) Revelation would demonstrate knowledge not known to sheep-herders.
5) God would be just. Therefore 'original sin' would not exist. Creation would not suffer from the 'Fall of man'. Bastards would get into Heaven.
6) There would be physical evidence of the claims of religion, from appearances of souls in heaven to warnings from those who went to hell.
7) The promises of the Bible would be kept and jesus would have actually returned in the first century BC
8) The Gospels would agree with each other, such that a single consistant account incorporating every detail of all four Gospel-writers could be produced.
9) Add your own additional differencesw from the abundant possibilities.
Since these things do not exist, there is no God.
If you believe "God is truth" then you must seek the truth. But the truth is "there is no God."

"Even if you were the happiest person on earth they would think that you were lying or teh debbil was making you say it."

Lying means you know you're telling a falsehood. You most likely believe such foolishness. And 'teh debbil' doesn't exist.

[You're life has just been so marvelously wonderful and you've never wondered why it is that we crazy Christians insist that ours is better?]

[Could it be that maybe we've been on both sides and we know what we are talking about?]

News flash, DayoftheLord...people lose their faith all the time. Do they not know what they're talking about?

[Been there, done that and living without Christ is empty and meaningless.]

Empty and meaningless for you. Not everybody sees things the same way. That's why the Constitution has the establishment clause. That's why we have freedom of religion.

[What is it with atheists not being able to understand that there is no "I" in God?]

There's also no "we", "us", "you", or "them".

[It's not about what we think, it's what God says!!!

God told you to stone adulterers. Have you done so?

[Yes I have the truth, and you do not.]

The same claim has been made by every religious fanatic from every faith. What makes you any different from any of them?
