There is no such medical term as "partial birth" abortion. The fundies made up that term for certain medically necessary late term abortions because it is inflammatory and makes their ignorant, hysterical anti-choice base of voters even more hysterical. Fewer than 2000 per year are done in this country, and those only due to dire medical circumstances of either the fetus or mother.
As for all other, early term abortions, embryos/fetuses don't "gasp for breath", you idiot.
