Quote# 53406

I graduated in 1995 and I remember being in about 5th or 6th grade and another student getting stabbed in the leg with a pencil...

But I do agree, violence among children is escalating and the natural love of many is waxing cold.

I homeschool my daughter. I'm so happy to be able to give her a biblical worldview.

But ladyhen, the Biblical worldview says that all men are wicked and evil begining with the Fall of Adam. The Bible says that in their hearts all men are "sinful." According to the Bible there is no "natural love." Why would you think that people just started to get violent in the last few decades?

Someone with such an appalling lack of knowledge of history should never be teaching anyone anything. And someone with such a poor grasp of the thenets of their own religion should never be taking an instructional position on religious matters.

Poor girl...

a mind far far away

I hope you're happy with her working at McDonald's and living in sub-standard housing for the rest of her life.

Violence among children is escalating?

I did not know that.

Personally, it was unusual enough to witness a single fight-scene in all my four years of high school. Which I did. Mind you, it was scary, but still... Once in 4 years? In a school full of teenagers?

11/29/2008 9:35:31 PM

I stabbed someone in the chest with a pen in grade 7. Got me a week out of school.

11/29/2008 9:43:16 PM

If you think pencil is a nasty weapon, you haven't seen a newspaper in action.

Cap'n Mel

@ Jay-Sus: Lmao

@ ladyhen: In high school, a guy who sat in front of me kept fucking with me. I warned him a few times to leave me alone or I would stab him with my pen. He didn't listen and I jabbed him in the hand with my pen. Fucker deserved it.

11/29/2008 9:47:53 PM

Thank God there's no killing and violence in the bible...

11/29/2008 9:50:41 PM

Ahhh, yet another future burger flipper for jeebuz.

Old Viking

Your daughter will make her mark. Every job application I've ever seen asks if you have a biblical worldview.

11/29/2008 9:59:33 PM

What's all this about "natural love"?

11/29/2008 10:00:03 PM

well, I do prefer hot wax.

11/29/2008 10:04:10 PM

Yeah, back in the good ol' Bible days violence was left to the adults. Any school-age kid who stepped out of line was to be stoned to death by his parents and other adults in the community.

11/29/2008 10:05:46 PM

Nothing wrong with this quote. Shes homeschooling, like so many other people. Its time we should acknowledge that not everything a religious person does or says is fundie.

11/29/2008 10:09:53 PM

Another stupid ass bitch who will be ruining her child's life because of her own religious delirium.

Child abuse at it's worst!

@ #838215

If homeschooling your poor kid to be able to give it a 'biblical worldview' isn't fundie as fuck then what is ?

Sometimes I think that some people are getting so numb by the stupid things fundies do or say, that they start to accept them as almost normal, hence the increased postings here of people stating that they find this kind of thing ... 'meh, not fundie'.

11/29/2008 10:34:04 PM

How do you know what that Biblical worldview is? Seriously, it might be fucked up or it might be love. We arent told. And yet, we label it as fundie. RR provides loads of fundie comments, but this is not one of them. Had she said something about hating other religions or people, then yes. But this isnt.

Quantum Mechanic

"I'm so happy to be able to give her a biblical worldview. "

If she ever gets a clue she'll kill you.

11/29/2008 10:55:32 PM

In fact, statistics show that school violence is now at its lowest point in decades; it's just the media that's hyping everything now and parents like you fall for it, to the great detriment of your children, who will probably turn out to be as neurotic as you are, not to mention brainwashed by your twisted version of "a biblical world view". And I'm willing to bet that "world view" you're teaching her doesn't include much "natural love" for gays or poor people who need assistance, does it?

11/29/2008 10:57:10 PM

The Lazy One

Hey, I'm a public school student in a city and nothing bad has happened to me. The most violent thing that's ever happened was someone setting off some little lady-finger firecrackers. No one was hurt, and it was just kind of annoying.

Seriously, do some research.

11/29/2008 11:58:28 PM

As long as there's some reality to balance that "biblical worldview", it wouldn't be all too bad, but with some people you never know.

11/30/2008 12:09:05 AM

Jezebel's Evil Sister

It's fundie all right. A biblical worldview from people on the Rapture Retard site has very little to do with "love." I'm rating this a "5" because that's as high as the scale allows.

11/30/2008 12:11:04 AM

It's fundie not because she's homeschooling, and not because she's homeschooling for religious reasons. It's fundie because she does not have the slightest clue what she is talking about, yet is so certain she is right.

See, that's the problem with a lot of fundies: they make major life-altering decisions on what they think the Bible says without ever actually bothering to find out for themselves.

11/30/2008 12:32:16 AM

@ #838253

Thinking you can do a better job of teaching your kids then trained professionals is, imho, a fundamentalist notion.
For instance here in europe there are very, very few people who will evenn contemplate it, and those who do are complete nutters most of the time.

This combined with the whole biblical thing and the suggestion that the world is only getting worse, and not to mention it's a post from rapture ready, makes it fundie.

11/30/2008 12:32:56 AM

But I do agree, violence among children is escalating

Yes, violence among children can be a problem

I homeschool my daughter. I'm so happy to be able to give her a biblical worldview.

So she didn´t learn many social lessons and also is ignorant of real science. This might be a good preparation for her future career as burger flipper or waitress ;)
