(a battery commercial on TV singing about god's love changing the world)
God's Love
Thank you for visiting and finding out more about the TV ad featuring “God’s Love.”
Here you can play the ad again and see more information from Interstate Batteries Chairman Norm Miller about why we felt it was important to produce this message.
We realize it is a little unusual for a company to be spreading news about God’s Love. We want to honor God in how we manage our business and serve our community everyday.

Was this shown on TV recently? If so, where? It was shown during the Daytona 500 in February of this year, and before the second race of the season as well, but I haven't seen it since. Interstate Batteries is one of the sponsors of Kyle Busch's #18 car, which is owned by Joe Gibbs (another fundie). There are rumors that Norm Miller has gotten after Busch because he always travels with his girlfriend and has no intention of marrying her just yet.
What's really funny for anyone who follows NASCAR is that Busch is currently the sport's bad boy. There isn't exactly a shower of hearts raining down around him! More like a shower of beer cans from the stands!
@ Mattural Selection: Any woman who's tried one of Jimmyjane's "personal massagers" might have an easier time making a connection between the two concepts!
Wait--is he saying that God is a battery?
Kinda like how I found Jesus behind the couch--he was hiding there the whole time?
And what the hell? Hearts and love and stuff of that nature in a freakin' battery commercial? Are they serious?!?
That comerical was...weird...what the hell are they selling, agian?
Seriously, these people are tripping balls.
That commercial is hilarious, but not fundie at all. Christians holding to ideals of love and happiness rather than god's wrath are generally good people.
I could see myself having a beer with this guy.
2. At least they're trying to help the environment instead of bashing gays and abortions.
It's still weird to link God with batteries though.
EDIT: He says "and moms killing their babies." I should've watched it first. Still a more positive message than you usually hear.
Love and batteries just makes me think of sex toys...
I don't know, associating 'God's love' with your battery company is kind of fundie. And the commercial is completely ridiculous. Funny, though.
"Well, I was really burdened by man's inhumanity to man. All the violence and abuse....We need more of God's love to help us love one another. And I thought dangun'it [?] I could make a commercial. "
That's your solution to 'violence and abuse'? Let's make a commercial!
What do you think that commercial is going to do?
Wife beater : That commercial is right. I really shouldn't beat my wife with a pipe.
Serial Rapist : When I saw that faux Disney animation I realized I was doing something wrong.
George W. Bush : Look at the pretty hearts....
Actually, that last one might work.
P.S. WTF does this have to do with batteries?

Only if he's willing to play rough.
Oh, He plays rough, all right. The problem is, He doesn't use safewords and He doesn't follow the "no permanent damage" doctrine.
Nightjaguar :
The word you're having trouble transcribing is "dad-gummit."
It's a polite-icized variant of "God damn it," in much the same way that "oh shoot" is to "oh shit" and "oh fudge" is to "oh fuck."
I am a christian. When I saw this commercial last night I was shocked! I had to TiVo it twice. This is an outrage! What if I wanted to do a commercial about Allah or terrorism. I dont want to see this when I am watching TV. There is a place for that stuff, its called church. I dont want to see it in a courthouse or any other public place either. Hearts flying through the air have absolutely nothing to do with God's love.
Someone exploiting other people's religious beliefs for profit? That's new. Seriously though companies like this, that sell their products with blatant crowd pleasing agendas, usually tend to go on a downward spiral of quality really fast.
Confused?
