Quote# 5364

I don't need the Bible to know there's more out there. Open your eyes look around, the system of nature alone is perfect. One inch closer to the sun we burn one inch further we freeze.

Ok, I looked around.

I saw a few flesh-eating diseases, AIDS, cancer, and my own appendix.

What was that about perfect?

anti-nonsense

considering that the earth varies it's distance from the sun by a lot more then one inch throughout the year I think that pretty much proves you wrong.

Isn't this a repeat?

If by inch you mean a million fucking miles then yes. But humans exist because the Earth is in the right conditions, not the other way around.

Actually, im pretty sure it would be several million inches before we burn/freeze. I agree with anti-nonsense all the way.
The Earth varies its distance from the sun all the time. Therefore, salutetheheavens (another obvious fundie name) FAILS.

Right...that's why everybody's the same height (including all the animals!) and bending over or lying down can kill you.

Poor guy. I don't have the heart to tell him, that the Earth doesn't orbit the Sun in a circle.

Took the words right out of my mouth :)

EDIT: wait a sec, the quote's from 2003, and the first answers are from 2008...

Eh?

EDIT2: I'm guessing someone bumped a quote that, back when it was current, had some issue with its date.

You must be REALLY well-endowed, mister, if you think inches are that long...

Perfect? Like the fact that we start deteriorating in our forties, and the Bible says people lived to be 900 years, at some point in time?

Perfect, like the fact that working a lot on a computer makes our wrists and fingers and necks and shoulders and the small of our backs ache? God must have known that in the future we were going to be sitting for hours and hours in front of computers, when he created us, right? Right?
